Federer talk aside, anyone else impressed with Filip Krajinovic today? Even though he lost he played really well.
Yes he looked very good. His little run in Paris was not a complete fluke. Will be very interested to see him on clay since it all started last Fall winning back to back clay Challengers. Dimitrough played very well today.

Well you could say he should've if he hit a better serve at 6-4 in the TB, but he didn't choke either. Federer hit an amazing return, and then an ace. After that Kohly missed one FH badly, but made up for it on the next point on Federer's serve. Can't remember the point at 8-8, but I don't think either guy missed badly. My guess is Federer hit another good serve, and then he won the rally point at 9-8 after he got a few FHs in a row.

Kohly's only crucial miss of the whole match was the DF at 5-5 2nd set BP.
Kohlie had 2 DFs that game, one at deuce earlier in the game.

Who are these «Frauderista shock troops»? Can you name a few?:)
Let's see who's talking about General Pro material rolling back the years ad nauseum....
Well just about every Fed fan in this thread so there you go.;) General Pro is fine because one can just bail on the thread if too much, but must admit this thread has made me a bit queasy at times. Still very happy to have the troops in here watching a smaller tournament and keeping their eyes on some of the newer players.:p Rublev and FAA the most impressive. Some took note of Krajinovic. Medvedev still trolling around in the event and not exactly a staggering talent, but a wiley and very tough one at times. So good exposure.

One shocking trooper who perhaps needs his own service branch, @cc0509 , seems to be asleep at the switch on the fact that Fed is about to set a record that may never be broken.

It would/will be an incredible achievement, becoming the world no. 1, at the age of 36.5, after so many years on Tour while performing at the highest level.
The only more impressive feat, when it comes to the veterans, is Rosewall reaching the finals of Wimbledon and the USO at the age of almost 40.

“It was extremely complicated tonight,” Federer said. “I couldn’t find my range or my rhythm. I think Philipp did that to me; it was a struggle. Today when the score was close, I couldn’t release my shots. So it was a battle... It was quite the relief at the end.”

Federer admitted to thinking at 4/6 in the first-set tie-break that he would need three sets to keep alive his No. 1 hopes. "I was preparing for the second set, being down one set. I don’t care how positive a person you are. You just see negativity flying all around you, I am down 4/6, I messed up, I should have done this, I should have done that. I’m at the mercy of my opponent. It’s a bad feeling, but when you do come back and snatch the set, it’s such a key moment in the match and I was able to utilise that.”

Federer's season so far is better than last year's, isn't that crazy. By this point last year he'd lost twice. Hasn't lost yet.

(counting Rotterdam as replacing Dubai)

Agree. But he did hit a good serve at 6-4, hence why Fed’s return was so great

No.

My pleasure!
I missed this match and this discussion.

Do you record matches ?

My DVR has failed three nights in a row. The Fed match is at my midnight.

Do you have a link to the match ?

Also, how do you record the matches ?

(I have to connect a drive to my STB. but the recordings can only be played back on that STB. Not even on the STB in another room. that is very limiting. I am looking for some solution that does not tie my down to some box or vendor).

Federer has lost 2 sets this year so far in 9 matches.
if we include the hopman cup its 3 sets in 13 matches.

22-1 w/l for the last 5 months (26-1 with hopman cup).
fairly impressive.
