His returning since his resurgence is something else on these faster courts. I saw it at Wimbledon, Cincy and now here. Also, his court awareness is about as high as ever and he is able to transition to net better than before. The serve is really clicking this week also. If he keeps this up, he will be hard to be stopped here.

He will need to have a mighty drop off in form here, plus an impeccable match from Zverev or the finalist to stop him.

He has beaten 2 players who beat him last. I know Anderson beat him in an exhibition but still. You can tell Djokovic took that seriously after his response today. I expect him to really go after Zverev tomorrow and if he plays like he did today, he should get through to the final.

Exactly. Hence the Shanghai revenge week. I will be interested to see how Sacha approaches this match. He knows the crazy form Novak is in right now.

If I was Sacha I would try to go backhand to backhand with him because that's where he is strongest. If he gets into too many forehand to forehand rallies, he will be exposed. His forehand is his weakness in my opinion, especially ones that pull him wide off court. He must use that big serve to keep Djokovic pushed back but Anderson had a hard time doing that today and he has the better serve. So Zverev would need to go for his shots and be aggressive and try to end points down the line on Djokovic but that's easier said than done.

Expect Djokovic to bring the BHDTL to the party, to hurt Zverev.

They met four times I believe. Federer got Djokovic in WTF 2015 RR, Djokovic got him back in the final. Then routine wins at AO 2016 and Cincy 2018 for Novak.

In which world is 3-1 a one way traffic ?

If Fed had it 3-1 it would also be one way ?

In the world in which the three wins were actual knock out wins, especially when one of them superceded the Fed win in the very same event. If Federer did the same to Djokovic, I would say the same thing. You may not agree, but that is how I see it personally.

Fed won a set at AO 16 and won another match . So it does not meet the definition of one way street.

One way street is 7-0 over Nadal with no sets lost

Very good performance from Djoker, the only serious problems he had at the end of the first set, when he had to save one SP, TB but dominated superbly, at the beginning of the second set he got a easy break and the break kept until the end of the match.
The match checked Djoker's self-confidence and will be very difficult to stop the current version of Ultron.

Federer hasn't stood a chance against Djokovic for the past 8 years, at least.
Must have been living in a cave during 2011 FO, 2012 Wimbledon and the 13 matches Fed has beaten Djokovic in since 2010.

Psst... Fed is 6 years older than Novak. Think this impacts their results in recent years?
