A repeat of last years SF match. This time different circumstances - a better and fresher Del Potro and Nadal who had a very tough road to this round playing a 5 hour match against Thiem in the round before.

H2h: 10-5 Nadal

Current odds: 1,42 Nadal, 2,76 Del Potro

Nadal will grind Delpo down and empty his tank. Nadal will win in 4. If Nadal could serve well, then it would be a straight set blowout.

Rafa in 5...just keep winning the hard way, it makes winning the semi and then hopefully the final even more worth winning!! Makes for good celebration too...
Yeah of course, a 7 hour semi-final and a 12 hour final. He'll win and go for a 2 day marathon. There's no limit for Nadal, he's got more energy now than he had at 19.

I guess it must be the advanced nutrition.

Of course. It’s all nutrition and genes. Djokovic figured it out in 2011 that if he wants to hang with nadal he also needs similar ‘nutrition’. Gluten free nutrition too.

Del Po was struggling physically in his match against Isner. Be surprised if he wins more than 5 games against Rafa. No stopping Rafa from winning GS #18

Or maybe because he's a heavy doper that's been at the top of men's tennis so long that the ATP covers him up because they don't want to ruin the sport.

The guy at 32+ just outgrinded a player who's in his mid 20s while playing 8 hours in his last 2 matches combined.

This.

This match will decide once and for all if Delpo is a mug
Correct. Since 2017 Delpo has done everything right to take the oily and honorary PhD and Lifetime "olive-garlic" membership of Mallorca massage parlor - right on the footsteps of BerdGirl.
This match with such a spent Nadillio is his chance to save face.

Please welcome a fresh green new troll on board. I wonder from that oily post if she is on leave from Mallorca Third Knee Recuperation Center

Del Po only has the fire power on one wing. He won’t be able to constantly push Nadal back like Thiem, Basilashvili and KK did. Nadal will be inside the baseline most of the time.

All Nadal needs to do is get a read on Del Potros serve.

I'm hoping for the Tower. But it won't do him much good if he injures himself.

But standard Rafa is still crazy good, if the Thiem match is any indication.

I'll say more - I predict Nadal to beat Del Potro after another 4h+ match and he'll still have enough energy to make it an even contest against Djokovic in the final.

You're clueless. If Nadal dopes, then Federer, Djokovic and all the rest use PEDs just as much.

After the day I’ve had, I couldn’t care less there was more worrying things going on in my life than wether someone cheats or not, I don’t think Rafa or any of the top guys cheat, seems you just don’t like Rafa so you are making out he cheats...
Where is I don’t like other players but I don’t call them cheats I just respect that they are great players, not saying anymore...

Fedr still the GOAT.

Losing to a random mug doesn’t change that.

Rafa is top 3 of all time though. No doubt.

My opinion, Millman isn’t a mug, he’s my favourite Aussie player, he just hasn’t been given a fair go, always knew he had talent, even if he’s never a top player, he has the ability to cause upsets like he did with Federer...

All the top players are GOAT’s in their own unique way/ways :)

I think Nadal has had difficult matches one too many.. he doesnt have much left in tank. If it wasn't for one extra day of rest I would have written him off completely. But still it is going to be uphill battle. I think Delpo wud win it easily.

To me, Del Potro has been THE in-form player of the tournament along with Djokovic. Nadal has played well but not amazingly and has struggled badly against all his three previous opponents. Whereas Delpo seems to be in his best from since US Open 2009 where he destroyed Nadal in straight sets. Delpo has the game to beat Nadal on this surface, and now that he's a lot fresher, I think he will.

Yes, Thiem is a better grinder in longer rallies, but Delpo's serve/forehand 1-2 game is more effective than Thiem's. Thiem also returned poorly in the 5th set and couldn't even get one breakpoint in it. I'm pretty sure Delpo will get breakpoints even in the latter stages of the match even if it's gonna be a long 4-setter or a 5-setter.

Delpo couldn't break Rafa in the 5th set at Wimbledon though.
