She hired him again and she had an epic 2018 with a Sydney title, Aus Open SF, French QF. Wimbledon title, return to the top 3 etc. Now they split again.

Kerber did not enjoy the result post USO tho. Could be the problem starts from there.

You only have to watch some of the YouTube videos of players such as Muguruza and Ostapenkoflop having hissy fits with their coaches for daring to suggest strategies or tactics. Fortunately both said players are rising up the rankings.... oh....wait...

Wim has been praising Kerber work ethics so obviously it's not that issue. I bet Konta also has good work ethics.

I think more like after Halep withdrew it was clear for Pliskova she has a place in the WTA finals. So she didn't give sh*t anymore. Now she can fly to Singapore straight away and have some extra days to adjust and to train.

It's the same with Stephens. There's no way she would lose to Jabeur like that during the mid-season. Zvonareva and Jabeur are just lucky.
