The first scheduled SF match up of the day, not before 6:00 pm, local time. First meeting between the players.

Norrie looking to reach his second final of his career, having lost to Sandgren in the ASB Classic final earlier in the year.

Zverev seems to be in imperious form once again in a best of three event, closing in on his 16th career final (10-5).

Can't see Norrie putting up too much resistance, even if he's quite a tenacious competitor on court. What do you guys think?

Serving numbers from Zverev this week against

Popyrin - 63% 1st serve in, 96% 1st s won, 73% 2nd won
Ferrer - 66% 1st in, 78% 1st won, 79% 2nd won
ADM - 65% 1st in, 95% 1st won, 65% 2nd won

Coming onto court now...

Zverev breaks in the opening game, early signs of dominant display, 1-0.

Some hope for Norrie is that he loves the cross-court backhand and takes it quite early, a pattern of play that can trouble Zverev if he isn't on song off the forehand wing.

A quick love hold from Zverev, four unreturned serves. 3-1.

A little erratic from Norrie here, seems to be trying to add a little more extra pace on his average ground stroke, almost rushing in these points, but he's taking plenty of time away from Zverev. Faces BP but save it well.

Great response, comes through for 2-3.

Zverev serving at 3-2, quickly up 40-0 with more quality serving, a couple of DFs for 40-30, follows it with his 2nd ace of the match. 4-2.

Norrie is playing quite well, employing the forehand/body serve sporadically with some good success on the ad side, jamming the big man.

Zverev misses the tweener, I'm shocked. A very convincing love hold for 3-4.

Zverev unable to serve out the set. These are the nerves that cost him at grand slams.

Also, why'd you stop posting?

Does anyone else think it’s weird there are human billboards behind the players’ benches? All they do is stand there during changeovers.

Going to tiebreak.

Old-fashioned perhaps, but some big companies are paying for it. Samsung and I think Tercel is a telecom.
Had to remove old-fashioned from my post, felt it was the wrong term to say haha.

Can't watch the WTA match because I have tennis tv. Now I just need to find something to do until the Kyrgios-Isner match.
