This is the same way he played against Dimitrov in Paris and it worked and some people even said GOAT stuff from Djokovic.

Thiem surprised me by not being Dimitrov and didn't fall for the same trap.

1,41 odds on Djokovic against Fed. I'd take that. Would be really surprised if Fed just took a set and shocked if he could beat Djokovic given their forms.
I'd also take 2,9 on Berrettini to beat Thiem. This dead rubber against Berrettini will do wonders to Thiem, if this was his 3rd RR match he'd be screwed for the SF.

He's nowhere near as good except on clay, but I think Thiem generally matches up extremely well with all 4; destroys Fed's net game and backhand, blows the other three off the court which is the best way to beat them. He's turning into some kind of exponentially stronger Stanimal.o_O

It's a RR match and Thiem deserved to win, so why would I be mad? Were you mad when Federer lost his 1st match? I don't know since I didn't see you again afterwards. Lol. I thought he played better in that match and definitely served better. I also thought he picked up his level in the second set, the opposite of what he did here.

I’m gonna upload the video of match point later. That was incredible. Best match I’ve been too by far, thought Novak had him in the breaker. Novak got hardly any love... sad to see in person.

It's freaking hilarious that Djokovic gets flak from this noob because he played too passively when that's EXACTLY what Djokovic does best.

Djokovic is known for his defence. And he defended great today. His returns were unbelievable from the middle of the 3rd set until the end of the match. I don't think I've ever seen Djokovic hit so many great returns in a span of 30 minutes.

Djokovic played pathetic today and almost won. Thats how good he is. Thiem was doing everything right game plan wise and was redlining for most of the match but still he won by a hair. This is no knock on Thiem, but a testament to Djokovic greatness.
