It'll be a bit strange if Tsitsipas doesn't beat Nadal today given that he's managed to beat both Djokovic and Federer on hard courts this year, both of whom are obviously much better players on this surface than Nadal is. Tennis can be a funny old sport at times.
Nadal is by far the toughest opponent for next gen players. Most haven't gotten used to his game yet. Federer and Djokovic have many years of experience against Nadal.

Why did he beat him in FO SF then?
These guys have utmost respect for each other.
Much better than what their respective fanbases have
RG > friendship

But if I were Federer I’d definitely try it. Like really, since 2017 Nadal bring 0 intensity into matches vs Federer, zero fight. Glad Nadal didn’t gift Federer RG in the same way.

Nadal's ROS is again getting him into trouble. He could have broken twice now. But he makes sitter UFEs and misses the simplest of serve returns.
This kind of court exposes these problematic areas of his game. He's just hanging in there with just pure will.

I wonder why Nadal himself is giving a fight. He knows he isn't in form, does he really want to lose to Federer in straights tomorrow?
What kind of **** attitude is that from you?
Top athletes always want to play the very best and put their best effort in, even when not in peak form. Wanting to avoid a player just because you might lose to him? Crap attitude.

Not wanting 'your' favorite to give it their best shot just because they may lose in a next match? You should take a better look at what makes your favorite such a great player, because it's the opposite of what you are showing.

Unless their name is kyrgios

I think all of the big 3 in general. In terms of fighting spirit, mental strength and will to win - I'd put Novak at #1 and Fed/Nadal tied at 2.

Other than Medvedev - I haven't seen any of the youngsters have that mental strength.
I guess you've missed the match from the day before yesterday

I just don't want to see another beatdown from Federer, dude. I had enough of that in 2017. Nadal isn't ready to challenge Federer.
I don’t as well. I would rather he lost today. But it would be nice to see him upset Federer he needs a WTF imo indoors has hurt him and he is fit now.

Yeah, contrary to popular belief, I don't think Rafa minds losing as much as people say. Yeah, losing isn't great but I think he likes the fight.
The best players/athletes always want to test themselves against the very best. SUre, losing to them may hurt/sting, but they usually can't wait for their next shot at beating that same opponent

Nadal probably won't get to the SF. But even if he does, there is no way he beats Federer.
The way Federer was playing yesterday, Rafa would barely get a set.
As great as Nadal is, this court is his worst surface on tour and suits Fed's game to a T.

Looking like Nadal is taking control here now. Roger is the favourite if they okay though.

Can’t believe you’d ever put Medvedev and mental strength in the same sentence. That Nadal loss was arguably the worst I’ve ever seen. Nadal was a bum and did nothing but push and Medvedev imploded.
