It should. He's playing a 33 year old on a surface not favorable to Nadal and still can't beat him, even when Rafa's in lousy form.
Tsitsipas is the youngest of the new gen. And while I think Medvedev has more upside, there is plenty of time for Tsitsipas to improve.
But yeah this was a super lousy Rafa and there for the taking.
One hopes that Medvedev loses to Zverev for Rafa's sake, otherwise it won't be pretty against Fed for sure.

Yeah, what is it with this Pro-Nadal crowd?
Such disrespect for Tsitsi!
It's too bad. :)

That was yesterday's news and from another thread. Why bring it in here? Well since you did, don't compare the behavior of the crowd in this match to these fools from yesterday. They have not been disrespectful to Tsists just because they are cheering for Nadal more.

I admit it, they were way too harsh on nole

?!!
He definitely has more than 50%

I really don't think so. He is better or closer to Novak in many areas. But ROS is not one of them.
The fact that Nadal still has decent return stats is because of the strength of his ground game. Not his return shot per se.
Among the big 3 and ATGs, he has the highest non returned serves or short returns.

If Tsitsipas could almost take out Nadal then Fed should have this in the bag unless Nadal finds two extra gears if he makes it to the SF
Fed's level varies significantly from match to match these days. Just because he served and played fabulously against Djokovic, doesn't mean he brings that form into his next match. The surface certainly favors Roger over Nadal though. Sure hope the match happens, but Zverev has to lose. :X3:

Regardless of whether he will make the SF or not, the last 2 matches were awesome from Nadal, his fighting spirit is still unsurpassed.
Great momentum to carry through, to next year. He will be fresh and motivated for the off season and potentially a great AO next year. No more brooding, what he did at the start of this year lol

@NoleFam I told you Zverev is Nadal's biggest threat in this group. I also told you Thiem has the game to trouble Djokovic on hardcourt if he plays well. I was right on everything, and you didn't believe me.

nope.
He's the 3rd best returner of this era after novak and murray

IMO Tsitsipas or Nadal whoever gets to the SF will be at a SIGNIFICANT disadvantage. They both ran like close to 4 miles today. Not sure how much they will have left in the tank.

You missed my point entirely.
It's the same London crowd!

They are humans.
They have favorites.

Yesterday they favored Federer.
Today they favored Nadal.

Understand now?

Well, credit to Nadal for fighting. Still don't want him to meet Federer though, this is going to be an ugly beatdown. Anyway, I don't think Medvedev will beat Zverev.

For once I agree with you..... I would want Rafa to make it to sf but yeah I would agree it won't be easy against Fed

Absolutely.
Nothing is given for roger at this age..

Lol, these Next Gen players just don't have a clue how to compete against a not even great version of Nadal. Absolutely pathetic.

Tsi Tsi just took the #1 player in the world and multiple GS champion to a 3rd set and down to the wire.

WTH are you even talking about. Do you even tennis bro?
