Actually Medvedev still has chances to be #2 if:

1) He beats Zverev in 2 (So Medvedev will be 3-4 in sets w/l, Zverev 2-4)
2) Tsitsipas beats Nadal in 2 or 3
Nadal is not beating Tsitsipas here. Of course suddenly Tsitsipas is not the hot garbage who showed up in Paris against Djokovic. Today he hit like 2 unforced errors or something. Wasn't missing anything...

Net points aren't equal with what I saw before, dunno why...

FFS Medvedev, could have sent Nadal packing now and played a winner goes through match with Zverev just like Djokovic and Federer will do it tomorrow.

Depends. If Zverev beats Medvedev in 2, Nadal is out in any case. If Zverev beats Medvedev in 3, Nadal has to straight-set Tsitsipas.
This is why this tournament is so pathetic. If Nadal beats Tsitsipas and still doesn't reach the semifinal he should never play it again.

Federer has more weapons than Novak or Rafa but they've still beat him a ton.

It's great to play offensive tennis, but you need to be on all the time for it to work. Zverev and Medvedev can develop better B or C games and grind out a ton of wins on days when Stef isn't redlining.

100%. But Nadal's and Djokovic's games were developed to beat Federer. And both these guys are probably (obviously including Fed) the best that have ever played the game. I don't think Z and M have the same talent and I feel that whatever we could see from them, we have kinda already seen it.

You see Zverev and it's the same tennis he is playing for the last 3 years, 5 feet behind the baseline, grinding and grinding and I am not sure for how long he will be able to do it with a 6.6 frame.

Again, I recognize that what I said might be too premature but that's just the feeling that I get. Not that Tsitsigod will destroy them all the time but that he will have a winning H2H against both of them.

Well, as expected Zverev totally messed up. If only he converted the break point in the first set, maybe it would go differently. But no, he missed it and then went into an unforced errors machine mode. (while against Nadal he was perfect)

So he was average and Zverev was terrible?
He played a smart, solid match. Read the 1st serve well, got on top of neutral points with better ball striking and initiative and was the much better net player. Zverev played a good opening 7 or so games. Got broken with three forehand UEs and a DF IIRC, then went downhill quickly. Looked pathetic at the end of the match, barely trying...

In the first 7 games both were close to perfect. Then Tsitsipas totally stopped missing while Zverev entered his tanking mode.

Typical for Zverev these days. I guess he came back down to earth. He should beat Medvedev though who has to be shattered after today. I don't see him winning a match here now.

Zverev is known for playing opponents close for the first few games and once he's broken, he's not the same player for the rest of the match. I've seen it time and time again with him lately. Tsitsipas is in real good form. Will be a real challenge for whoever plays him in the SF.

I don't think Medvedev is even going to try. So we can say Nadal is already out of the tournament.

Typical of Zed to raise level against Nadal and then fizzle out against Tsitsipas.

As long as he makes the semi.

Zed seems to play with a lot of vigor against the big 3 in best of 3 sets more often than not. As if he's trying to build his legacy off of beating the greatest players in history.

Thiem, Tsitsipas and Medvedev have shown significant improvements and all look ready to win Slam in 2020. Despite early breakthrough Zverev has fallen behind - today's demolition job shows it.

Tsitsipas is playing some special tennis here. I won't be surprised if he wins whole thing beating Djoko/Fed - Thiem back to back.

If Tsitsipas improves his FH and makes it more lethal, we are looking at a future GS champion. He's got such a beautiful game. Reminds me a bit of young 2001-2002 Federer.

Think the return and backhand need work. Perhaps 2nd serve too. That backhand cross court drive, while solid, is still loopy.
