My heart tells me Djokovic but my brain tells me Thiem.
Thiem in 3.
Thiem in 3.
I never thought you’d say something positive about a Thiem !In the past 2 years Thiem has been better than Djoker on clay and it's not even close. Djoker has no right to be called the second best behind Rafa on clay at the moment.
I don't put too much importance on Djoker's win over Nadal at RG That was the worst ever Nadal on clay. Thiem has faced better versions of Nadal at RG these past 2 years. And Djoker has only pushed Rafa once at RG. All their other encounters were no better than the Fedal RG matches.
So I stand by what I said that if Thiem doesn't beat Djoker tomorrow, it will be a bad look on him. Especially after he struggled to put away a near 38 year old Fed today.
Not on clay though, where Djokovic is the underdog against the favorite Nadal.Everyone starts out as an underdog against Djokovic.
I think Thiems time is here, the POC is ready to become the KOC![]()
I dont expect another Rafa , he has won 11 FOs after all, but one FO has to be the last. At one point he will declineI try to go based on results...I haven't yet seen that Thiem has the answer to Djoker or Rafa on clay, provided they are playing well.
Djokovic could lost tomorrow and still win in Paris. I think you know, better than anyone, that Novak is a different beast in slams.
People were doubting Novak when he looked shaky before the UsOpen. And again when he didn't look all that great at year end. But then he won AO.
I'm not prepared to write off Novak until he actually gets beaten in Paris. And I think that can only be done by a peak Nadal.
S&v, sabr, sliceDjokovic should use the same tactics Federer used against Thiem.
This. Not on clay though, where Djokovic is the underdog against the favorite Nadal.
And this guy is supposed to be the future RG champion?I'm gonna say Djoker in 2. I think Thiem is going to be physically and mentally exhausted from the Fed match, and if Djoker can beat Rafa at RG he can beat Thiem here. Thiem isn't going to show Novak anything new.
Now this could all go up in smoke if Djoker comes out with Pepe's fairy dust on him and looks listless, weak, etc. That will become obvious fairly quickly.
I wouldn't use the bolded part as reference.I'm gonna say Djoker in 2. I think Thiem is going to be physically and mentally exhausted from the Fed match, and if Djoker can beat Rafa at RG he can beat Thiem here. Thiem isn't going to show Novak anything new.

We all know Djoker hasn't and will never play this way.Djokovic should use the same tactics Federer used against Thiem.
I really don't get this sort of confidence. Djoker hasn't shown he can best Nadal at RG.Peak Nadal has died, peak Djokovic is on the verge of, so another player on the rise will be needed to beat Novak in Paris. Nadal's worst nightmare is meeting Djokovic in the Paris final. That would be PUNISHMENT DAY.
I wouldn't underestimate Thiem here, especially this Massu'd Thiem.
At the moment, I have Thiem second after Nadal, and Djokovic third on clay.
I really don't get this sort of confidence. Djoker hasn't shown he can best Nadal at RG.
Maybe because the guy actually did beat Nadal at the French, and was one Net trapping away from doing it twice. I mean imagine Fedr had played something similar against Nadal like 2013 FO. We would never heard the end of it from you the Fedr fanbois.This.
I generally never understood where this confidence of Djokovic fans comes from. Why do they believe Djokovic can beat Nadal at RG when he has never done it against a decent Rafa?
Other than 2013, all their FO matches have been similar to Fedal's.
When? Please enlighten me.He has, and added to that the times are different now. Past meetings are in quite a few cases are not indicative of future meetings among aging ATGs.
Whose your fourth favourite at RG? If Roger Federer is playing French Open
Lol, Nadal was in his absolute worst form in 2015. It is honestly a joke to write about this win as a reason to why Djokovic is better than Federer. All Djokovic had to do to win this match was to show up. This one was absolutely NID.Maybe because the guy actually did beat Nadal at the French, and was one Net trapping away from doing it twice. I mean imagine Fedr had played something similar against Nadal like 2013 FO. We would never heard the end of it from you the Fedr fanbois.
Like we are hearing about the 2006 Rome anyway.![]()
When? Please enlighten me.
Worst version of Nadal. Not impressed.google it - straight sets
Lets wait until after Rome for me to answer that for you. I don't want to say Federer just yet since Madrid conditions are not like those in Paris.
A win is a win. You cant erase the past and pretend it didnt happen.Worst version of Nadal. Not impressed.
Well, seems that this dude conveniently has erased that match from his memory.A win is a win. You cant erase the past and pretend it didnt happen.
Not all wins are created equal.A win is a win. You cant erase the past and pretend it didnt happen.
Would you like it if I start talking about Thiem destroying Djokovic 7-6 6-3 6-0 in RG and say it is a proof that Thiem at his peak is better than Djokovic on clay?A win is a win. You cant erase the past and pretend it didnt happen.
That match win over Nadal means nothing since he lost the finals to Wawrinka. Its just a nice moment but not a significant achievement.Would you like it if I start talking about Thiem destroying Djokovic 7-6 6-3 6-0 in RG and say it is a proof that Thiem at his peak is better than Djokovic on clay?
Djokovic's so called "win" over Nadal in RG 2015 is worth nothing. All he had to do was to show up, the match was NID.
Well, Soderling also lost the final of RG 2009 but I would say his win over Nadal meant something because he actually beat a pretty good Nadal in RG. (and to this day he remains the only player who did that)That match win over Nadal means nothing since he lost the finals to Wawrinka. Its just a nice moment but not a significant achievement.

Federer sinply wasn't as fortunate to face such a horrible Nadal.
Worst version of Nadal. Not impressed.
Federer won 4 sets against Nadal in 5 meetings in RG. Djokovic won 4 sets in the first 6 meetings. Nobody except trolls takes 2015 seriously because this was the worst Nadal ever. This is honestly a joke to bring this match as a reason to why Djokovic is better than Federer. So I wouldn't say Djokovic did much better than Federer. The only argument he has is that RG 2013 semifinal which he still lost. For the past 15 years at RG, that Djokovic win was Nadals 2nd loss only. So deal with it. Why do you have to hate all the time and make excuses cause Federer was god awful against Nadal?
IYO,
Should Federer play Rome ?

Saying Djokovic has a chance to beat Nadal at the FO based on that match is ludicrous.Who cares... it was a legit match, impressing armchair wingnuts is not the issue, so whine on about "versions of Nadal", which is pathetic anyway, but discarding that match is part of the record in Paris because Nada wasn't in tip top form is outright delusional.
Ok, let's remove 2006 then. In 2007 Djokovic wasn't in his prime yet but he still played much better than Nadal in 2015. But even if you want to remove it as well it doesn't change much.Right, and bringing up early 2006-2007 Djokovic is OK though to get those numbers you put up.
Well it wasn't Federer's fault Nadal was never so horrible for him to take advantage. For the past 15 years at RG, that Djokovic win was Nadals 2nd loss only. So deal with it. Why do you have to hate all the time and make excuses cause Federer was god awful against Nadal?

Keep talking about that 2015 match if that makes you feel better. Nobody will take you seriously. 2013 was close, but Nadal still won in the end. Federer pushed the best versions of Nadal on clay as well. (Rome 2006 for example)Djokovic pushed Nadal to 5 and nearly won, and also won a match in straights. Federer won 0 and never pushed him really. Was just a Day at the office for Nadal.
Pretty obvious who did better hahaa
Djokovic was fortunate that Nadal choked when serving for the match in 2013. Other than that it was business as usual when Nadal played Djokovic at RG.Djokovic pushed Nadal to 5, 9-7 in the 5th, and also won a match in straights. Federer won 0 and never pushed him really. Was just a Day at the office for Nadal.
