Clay season is amazing.
Here we see which tennis players have the ability to play tennis rallies, and servebots will be confused of how they should play.

Nadal, Djokovic, Thiem, Federer are probably the 4 players that a lot will be interested most in this clay season. Nadal fits on clay, Djokovic who is at the moment better than Nadal and is #1, is to play on his worst surface, but maybe he can still win? Thiem who made a RG final last year, has yet to not choke a clay Masters 1000, but now that he has won 1 on Hard, it could be the year he finally wins a clay masters. Federer is playing amazing tennis, and he is returning to clay for the first time since 2016, but will, if his schedule doesn't change, first play in Madrid.

But who will win this Monte Carlo Masters 2019?

Seeds are

1. Novak Djokovic
2. Rafael Nadal
3. Alexander Zverev
4. Dominic Thiem
5. Kei Nishikori
6. Stefanos Tsitsipas
7. Marin Cilic
8. Karen Khachanov
9. Borna Coric
10. Danill Medvedev
11. Marco Cecchinato
12. Nikoloz Basilashvili
13. Fabio Fognini
14. Gael Monfils
15. Denis Shapovalov
16. David Goffin

Here is the draw if you want to put it in your OP:

Strange they didn't start from 1990, the full matches are on Tennis TV.
Rafa’s grunting during the 2006 clay season and especially in the matches with Federer was the most frightening ever, even by his own standards. It’s audible at the match point here. It was a great match, but obviously overshadowed by the Rome match a few weeks later.

Another big moment was in 1995 when Becker had match points to win his only tournament on clay, but failed against Muster. It was a choke, but in a way it was sensational that he even was there with his offensive style against somewhat a lesser version of Nadal from the 90s.

Not for sure Djokovic will win this one, yet ,for sure he'll win a few matches and pad his lead in the ATP rankings as No. 1.

I'm getting 2013 vibes from Novak atm. Dominant QF-F win at AO, shock 4R loss at Miami, rebound to win MC over Nadal, then go MIA in Madrid/Rome to be fresh as possible to challenge Nadal at RG.

My prediction for clay atm is Novak to win MC and then Nadal to win Barcelona/Madrid/Rome and then a 5-setter in the RG final b/w Djokovic and Nadal (which Nadal probably wins, but hoping Novak can pull it out).

Voted Thiem. Nadal may have to take caution due to recent knee problem. Novak is currently not in his peak level.
I expect both to improve on clay over the next two months before a final showdown in RG.

Rafa hopefully will get to play Djokovic at least 3 times this clay season :)
But I suspect Djokovic is too fragile to get that far in each event.
Certainly in this Monte Carlo draw I'll be hoping for Djokovic to get the easiest draw anyone's ever received in a masters event, so we can pencil in another win for Rafa over Djokovic and fix that stupid h2h.

The draw is out. Djokovic, Thiem, Tsitsipas, Monfils, Schwartzman all together and Rafa alone. If the organisers wanted to favor Rafa they could not have done better

Wondering why Agut, Shapovalov and Zverev is like being "alone".

Agut is a tough R2 but the others 2 are clearly not going to trouble Rafa. And I say that as a big Shapovalov fan. Zverev will probably be beaten by Auger Aliassime also considering his horrible form this season.

It's worth noting that this tournament is held on French soil and not in the Principality of Monaco :p

1) Zverev game is more effective against Roger than Rafa

2) Zverev current level is miles away from his WTF 2018 level
Idk about that. Zverev has just had problems closing out potential victories against RAFA IW 2016 and Rome 2018 and went to distance in AO 2017 while two of wins against Fed where when Fed was injured. ATP Finals was a legit win but Fed was a bit shaky then.
