It's true that the principality was founded by an Italian family, the Grimaldis. Maybe the capital's name derives from that time? Wonder when the official language became French?

Monaco actually has two languages, French and Monégasque, which is more similar to Italian. Romance languages are a continuum, or used to be, before the French stamped out minority dialects. The area where Monaco is is not far from Italy and there's probably residual Italian culture, or maybe used to be a language and culture somewhere in between Italian and French

As a Nadal fan I believe he could have lost that match. Schwartzmans level on clay compared to his level on hard has an even bigger difference than Nadal's.

Zverev has not been great lately but he did win Rome last year so he's a good Clay Player.
