See I think that’s a bit too glum. Tsisipas just beat him despite barely winning 50% of his service points...he broke Rafa 6 times despite not possessing an elite return game on clay.

Of course if Nadal plays poorly enough he can lose to Fed lol.

And Federer is one of the finest clay counters in the open era. More than counterbalances things.

I’m the last guy to deny Fed’s age works against him but it’s hyperbolic to say he can’t beat Nadal on clay no matter how poorly Rafa plays. Tsisi’s level was high but not world-beating against Nadal last week and he broke him 6 times. Very little to suggest that it’s inconceivable for Fed to match and surpass Tsisi’s current level on clay.
