Feeling a little wistful right now. It's exactly 10 years since Andy Murray won the title in Rotterdam beating Rafa Nadal in 3 sets!

Just so hard to take in that I will probably never see him in action like that ever again!! :(

Finally got one right.

Edit: Some people want to put down Monfils for only having 8 titles and missed a lot of opportunities in other finals. Yet some of the same people will excuse Chris Evert for all the finals she lost. Gotta love the double standard.

Best highlights are here >>>

OK, I haven't watched all of the highlights, but I'm here thinking that I was criticizing Schnur for not always hitting it deep. And here I watch these two great players, Monfils and Wawrinka, and they were hitting so many shots around the serve box line. Sheesh. I guess it isn't easy for anyone, particularly facing a strong opponent across the net.

You seriously comparing Evert and Monfils? 18 slams to zip. 157 titles to 8?? Get outta here! LOL

I like both of these guys!! They are genuine grinders on the tour :)
monfils has now reached a final on the tour for 15 consecutive years !
(some sorts of consistency are occasionaly found where you don't expect it... is that a new 'lesson' ?!)
only 4 players have done better in the open era...

Consecutive years winning (at least) a title / reaching (at least) a final

Nb: "open era" for both lists (in blue : active streaks)

as regards doubles, nestor is a good candidate with:
  • 23 straight seasons winning a title [1994-2016]
  • 24 straight seasons reaching a final [1994-2017]

Thank you for proving my point. If Evert would have won just half the Slam she lost, she would be sitting on the all time record without breaking a sweat.

But guys you like are very selective in your condemnation of others.

Apparently Clownfils injured his wrist along the way to equaling his biggest title (Washington’16)...he has withdrawn from Marseille, citing injury from too much waving of his baton while lecturing from his lectern.
