I picked R2 pretty early so bump just in case.R2 Top: Basilashvili
BU: Simon
R2 Bottom: Federer!
BU: Isner
The first round of these Masters Series with byes is the most difficult round to pick of all the tournaments, with very few points awarded for getting through. Maybe organizers might consider giving the top SDL players byes, just as the ATP top seeds get them (perhaps instead of save picks). Just a thought. The organizers do a lot of work, and everything they do to allow us the play this game is very much appreciated.Brutal first round.

I was not aware of that. I remember one tournament last year that had 8 seeds with byes, and it was another difficult first round pick. I had the idea then. Even though I would not have benefitted, I thought the top SDL players should have that advantage. I organize a lot of tennis events, so I understand what that entails, and therefore I'm hesitant to put forward suggestions when I'm not the one doing any of the work.I had that idea last year and it was discussed but no one else was on board.
Smart pick to use Federer early, as he's unlikely to win the tournament.Looks like no one noticed my R2 picksOk I'll just repeat I guess.

Yeah not quite sure about Federer on the later stages anymore. So a safe early pick for me.Smart pick to use Federer early, as he's unlikely to win the tournament.

Can't remember for sure, but that sounds right. You mean Barcelona right? That's exactly where I thought of that as well and discussed for a bit with the other admins if it was worth it or not to make those changes.
He played at UCLA and has been grinding on the Challenger circuit for a couple of years after leaving there. He qualified at Los Cabos’18 and won a 1R match vs Arevalo but then lost R16 to JMDP.@stringertom do you know anything about Giron? I don't remember him playing any atp events before, maybe some 250s in the US?
