What do I need to do to qualify  ?
Either make one more correct pick or hope that one of the other 5 people also loses in the same round.

I placed everyone in terms of their position in the rankings, meaning we all lose in this round, the 4 moving on will be the top 4 names.

You still have a very good margin when compared to the first player outside of the qualification zone.
Even if Locotus, TripleA and Beacon all surpass your total points, you would still qualify with the 8th and final spot.

So the main thing would be for you to not fall behind TheMuzziah and Hamnavoe - both are still alive in Paris. Doing a quick math, I'd say they both need to win the tournament to surpass your total points as of now. If neither of them wins the tournament, you qualify for the finals.

Even if one of them (or both) end up winning the tournament, you still can get in if one or two of Locotus, TripleA and Beacon stay below your total score.

Oh right, yeah, I accounted for that. You just have to hope Hamnavoe and TheMuzziah don't win the tournament, or Beacon Hill and I don't reach the finals. If all of that happens, then Locotus can still lose before the semis. If any of us fail to reach those, then you've qualified.

thanks both

I have a very decent shot (About 60% orso)

Even though I should not too optimistic

A few years back, at this very tournament, the race to qualify for the Top 8 was very close. And every player but one backed Paire in the first round. He lost a seemingly unloseable match. This meant only one player had the chance to over take the 8th ranked. But he had to win the tournament as he was say about 11th at the time. He went reasonably deep I think, but didn't win.
And why do l remember this reasonably well? Because I was the 8th player that scrapped in. And think I ended up winning the Top 8 competition, which back then, was the only event that gave you a free pick the next year.
Happy days :)

No idea what happened to me this year. Amassed points from winning the AO and had a good early hard court season, reached #1 again and was leading the Race for quite a while. And then just inexplicably started crumbling away in the second half of the season! Indian Wells final may well have been the turning point
