ATP H2H: 2-0 for Djokovic
H2H on HC: 1-0 for Djokovic
Last mutual match: 2017 Eastbourne SF, Djokovic won 6:4, 6:4

First time in career Medvedev advanced into the 4R at GS tournaments. Will he improve his GS max or lose with king AO?

I truly dislike lanky dipsticks.

Just because you're tall doesn't excuse the 2% muscle mass.

Nole in 3.

Medvedev is playing much better than Djo in the AO. Medvedev in 3 or 4 sets. Djo's level is crap, getting broken by mugs often, losing focus easily, not playing solid from the baseline.

If Novak can give away a set to Dennis, he can most definitely do so against a better opponent!

I think the quality will be a lot higher than today's match. Looking forward to this one :)

Medvedev is incredible, when inspired. And a lot more consistent than Shaps. Novak won't win if he plays like he did today.

Seems like a 4 setter, but that's assuming less than stellar play from Djokovic and a Medvedev on par with what he's done so far in the tournament. It could easily become 3. I see Djokovic winning, though.

Very edgy?no? just don't want you to get disaapointed like Shapo match where many Fedfans were wishing for an upset ;)

Ha, Novak is the favourite for the AO so there's very little chance he will get upset earlier than the semis but there's nothing wrong about hoping he gets removed earlier and I'd say the same for Rafa. As long as the other big 3 are in the competition, Federer at age 36.5 will not be the favourite and he'd rather face someone easier than two ATGs still near their primes.

Match could've been straight sets 6-3 6-4 6-3, and you say he didn't play good?????

Yes. But the level was mediocre from both. Absolutely the worst match I've seen in this tournament. Everybody knew Novak didn't have to do much to beat Shapo, but Novak was actually quite erratic. And had a mini meltdown and lost 5 games in a row to lose the 3rd.

I am not one who said Shapo would threaten Novak. Novak should absolutely have won in straight sets.

Medvedev is in good form. He doesn't make 3 UEs pr game. I look forward to the match, hope for a good one :)

Djokovic will bring out errors from medvedev too... Remember he's not a good mover and that's the biggest disadvantage against nole. Nole is expert in changing directions and creating deadly angles off both wings

100% agreed.
But if Novak doesn't play his game well, Medvedev will have chances. Medvedev plays with better depth than Shapo, makes less errors and serves better. He is a much better tactician. Novak knows Medvedev well, though. They practice together a lot. A top Novak wins in straights. Let's see what Med can do :)

It should be a closer match than with Shapo, Daniil is more consistent at this moment, right now Djokovic has another level to go to and should get past Daniil in 4 sets with a 7-6 thrown in somewhere.

As hot as the Russian PM has played recently, this is his 1st R4 match in majors. Likely his 1st match in RLA. Unfortunately, against the #1 player in the world.
In general, don't bet on Russian players. (And don't bet against them either.)

Novak in 3 or 4. But an upset is possible if Novak doesn't being his A game.

Medvedev moves very well for his height . It is very deceptive

I didn't see the match against Shapovalov, but Djokovic winners/unforced errors ratio was 16/33 which is very poor because these courts are pretty fast, and in most matches here the winner's w/ue ratio has been well on the plus side. Surely Medvedev has a chance if Djokovic doesn't step up his game, but then again he usually does in the 2nd week of a grand slam...
