Tsonga once said, jokingly or not, that Novak had ruined his life. Well. Tsonga at his age and with his usual weight, can hardly keep up with Novak in a long match. It would be a high-quality match. But unless Tsonga wraps up the match in 3 (what odds against Novak), I see Novak winning.
At the start of the season, I looked forward to the return of these big boys from injury break, Murray, Stan, Berdych, and Tsonga. Now that Murray is out of the race, I still have high hopes for the other three, especially Berdych, who is playing surprisingly well and smart.

Exactly bro, we aren’t expecting total domination from Djoko again. He won’t repeat that and we aware of it but we just happy he’s competing at the highest level again. It’s great to see all the big 3 playing great at same time again!

Tough draw for both of them, but particularly for Tsonga. He has beaten Djokovic only once (not counting Paris 2011 WO) since that win in 2010 AO, and that was 4 and a half years ago (Toronto 2014). That 6-2 6-2 win in Canada is also the only time he has taken any sets of Djokovic since 2010.
I'd like Jo to play well and take a set, but realistically this is going to be straight sets for Novak.

Looks like a lot of voting from the heart and not from the mind. JWT hasn't shown any kind of form that would lead me to believe he is ready to take down the world no. 1. At this point in his career, Nole is more likely to lose to a young ball basher that can grind with him than someone like Tsonga. Djoker in three competitive but ultimately routine sets.

And he's not the slight favorite anywhere else on the planet. It's highly weird to see a nearly 50/50 split in predicting the outcome of this match. Tsonga is overweight, has played almost nothing since his knee injury and hasn't been relevant in slams for 10 years. Djokovic should destroy him, even if he's playing so-so.

Conveniently omitted is that there's 11 years between the 2008 final and 2019.The final of 2008 is the second round of 2019. And people call this a weak era.

Tsonga is the kind of matchup that can trouble Djoko. Plus I feel that the 'mentality' moment favors the Frenchman. I See Tsonga more stable mentally.
It's the good part of staying away from competing due to injury. When you are not on roll, tourny after tourny, you have time to think about your game and the come back can be very positive. I mean it's full of examples of this happening.
The other guy that has surprised me with his comeback is Berdych. Nadal better watch out. I have seen an interview of Thomas, and never saw him so calm and focused, and this is reflecting very positively on his tennis.

Tsonga hasn't played many matches since coming back, and Djokovic is the won who's actually saved MP and won matches vs Tsonga at Slams.
