Would be quite the feather in the Tsitsipas to win this one in Fed's Basel castle (10 time champion). Fed of course wants to get his game on track for Paris and with the Wawrinka walkover and his schedule well spread out its time to play into form for another WTF where Djokovic's chances look diminished with the dual threat of Tsitsipas and Medvedev possible for his Round Robin.

Tsitsipas close last year with a bang in Milan coming back from annihilation against a goating De Minaur. After one set took his game to a whole higher level he'd never done before (the same one Fed saw at Auz Open). Auz was more net play. Milan more power baseline. In short Tsitsipas could be building to something biggerer this year.

This is a fantastic match.:p

And a win for Tsits would leave only Nadal left for his Los Dos head hunting collection:

Gotta feeling Fed has had too many days off and Tsitsipas will come out strong (closed very strong against a goating Krajinovic). Tsitsipas finds a way in three after taking first set and then encouraging Fed comeback in 2nd. Fed more rested for Paris.;)

I voted Tsitsipas in 3, but don’t feel confident in that. I could see either player winning this. Tsitsipas does need to keep his head together, though. Starting up very soon now!

Well its on. If Fed wants an 11th Basel he has to beat both of last year's Milan finalists (both eligible this year). Fed can win two titles this weekend.;)

Nah I reckon Fed will get this one over the line. But we'll see.

Meles, do you really think Fed is playing Paris? Last year he did after winning Basel in a supposed last minute decision. He's hinted already he's not playing Paris next week.
:cry: but then Nadal or Mad Lad might win tarnishing his goat credentials.

Yeah, a day off might have disturbed Fed's rhythm. Will see. I like both so whoever wins I'll be happy :)

I think he should skip Paris. Last year he played it and then was flat vs Zverev in London. Should save the energy for the bigger scalp.

When you’re know for not being clutch enough on bps, your opponent is going to have upper hand mentally and serve extra well on bp
