Yeah, Barty & Petra lost in the semis of Wuhan Friday, Sabalenka beat Riske the next day. This tourney started Saturday.

Nice lob on match point and Barty breaks once again to win the match in 3 sets against Zheng.

Into the Beijing QF's where she'll play Kvitova.

Real juicy QF match between Barty and Kvitova.

Pair are developing a nice rivalry.

Kvitova beat Barty in 3 to win the 2017 Birmingham title and again in 3 to win the Sydney title this year.
She also beat Ash in the Aus Open QF this year.
Barty scored her first win against Petra in the Miami QF en route to the title.

Bertens escapes Hercog in 3 sets.

She’s just 10 points behind #9 Bencic in the race to Shenzhen. Bencic of course lost earlier.

Why can't you delete posts on this webite?

I thought this was interesting, highest win rates on both tours this year so far:

Don't think this is correct. Says Barty has 51 wins and 11 losses. I'm counting 10 losses:
Wuhan SF
USO 4R
Cincy SF
Rogers Cup 2R
Wimbledon 4R
Rome 3R
Madrid QF
Indian Wells 4R
AO QF
Sydney Final

This says Barty has 48 wins and 10 losses so adding the 2 from Beijing this week that's 50 wins and 10 losses (unsure if WTA stats included Fed Cup wins)

Thank you. Sorry not following WTA close enough
they have some similar but not exactly the same type of arrangement in ATP too, if a lower ranked player did exceptionally well in Beijing or Tokyo and went deep to semi or final and would not be able to play qualis at Shanghai, they would receive a WC direct entry to the main draw.

Caroline wins 3 consecutive matches for the first time since the Charleston final in April and just the second time this year.

Beats Siniaková in straight sets to make the Beijing QF.

Caroline getting some much needed points. Defending champ, 1000 points come off and she was down to #35 in the world. Now at least at #30.

Was only at #57 in the race before this week, now up to #43

Just realized that we could have all top 8 seeds in quarters only to be messed up with the consistent players all year Halep and Pliskova.

WTA finals and Elite Trophy counted as next calendar year in which Barty is 3-1 (Lost to Aryna). so 48+3 wins and 10+1 losses.

We're just one Bianca win away from an epic first time match between the 2018 US Open champ and the 2019 US Open champ.

Osaka v Andreescu.

Now that is going to be a great one.

Andreescu would be on a 17 match winning streak if she knocks out Brady.

Osaka on a 7 match winning streak.

First matchup. Really keen for this one if it happens.

A potential tasty QF encounter awaits between Osaka and Andreescu if Bibi can get the W. Osaka is finally looking like the player who went B2B in NY and Melbourne.
She's poised. In Tokyo there is some shaky in closing the set and match but as a fan I'm glad she found her game and mentality now.

Commentator says '16' in a row, So I guess the WTA don't count the withdrawal.

Either way, Andreescu v Osaka Beijing QF. First matchup.

Juicy.

Beijing QF's:

(1) Barty v (7) Kvitova
(3) Svitolina v (8) Bertens
(5) Andreescu v (4) Osaka
Kasatkina v (16) Wozniacki

Insanely good lineup.
6 of the top 10 + the defending champ.
3 of the 4 reigning slam champs.

Moscow champ v 2017 YEC champ

Obviously the bottom quarter of the draw is the outlier but nobody can control it. Nice wins for Wozniacki and Kasatkina at crucial times.

I like Andreescu's chances against Osaka. More organised footwork, much better drops and netplay and basically a more organised game built on strong defence. Osaka is more liable to get impatient. Also, Osaka can be spectacular on her day and spray the next whereas Andreescu's B game is solid. And from her muted celebration after beating Brady, she is even starting to get used to the winning feeling. So that makes her even more dangerous. Wouldn't count Osaka out but looks like the betting men have picked the right horse here.

So clutch by Petra at break point at 4-3 in the 3rd set against Barty. Had Barty converted she would've served for it.

I'm in 2 minds... Osaka is looking to be on form for the first time since AO, having gone MIA thereafter. Bianca is still more consistent though, so I guess that means the game is on Osaka's racket to an extent. I think they'll both be aware that fans and the media will have their eyes on this match, and they're also both building toward the YEC so I can't see them not being keen to win the title here as it's a massive tournament.
