Mugu playing Kenin in about an hour. I'll actually get to watch her play!

But I think maybe Kenin is playing too well at the moment.

Also, good example of how to play on Hsieh's serve. Belinda just taking the return on putting Hsieh on the run constantly.

Belinda's a smart player, her and her team have studied Hsieh and don't fall into the silly traps unlike the other top players. Not hard to expose her play.

Yes!!!! Amazing Jelena. She served 24 double faults on her way to take out Pliskova! :D
Amazing is an 'interesting' choice of word to use. Pliskova was pathetic to screw that up but that's on her. Anybody losing a 3 set match to a player with 24 double faults is a disgrace. Just saying.. No disrespect to Ostapenko but that's one hell of a choke by Karolina.

Well Belinda still struggled a lot on her own serve, but Belinda's game on paper should match up well. Take the ball early and redirect. Hsieh's movement isn't good enough to keep up.

This Kasatkina-Peng match has been crazy. I don't recall the last time I saw someone struggle through cramps for so long during a match.

Muguruza's first serve winning % in the first set was 23%!

I was wondering why there were so few people in the stands and realized this match is taking place past 1:00 a.m. in China.

Looks like Kenin finally got it back on track. Down 0-2 in the 3rd, she's ripped off four straight and is serving 4-2.

Seems she care on this 2nd set. It's almost 2 in Beijing and they are still playing.
Yeaah something that is maybe overlooked. They didn't start until after midnight.

I had plans to play so I missed the match. I did see that she was up a break in the third before collapsing after that. Dunno how she was playing though.

Also why is Halep playing? She was apparently too injured to continue just 4 days ago in Wuhan and retired but she’s back now? Not like she has any points to defend considering she retired last year in Beijing too..

Muguruza should pay a visit to Carlos Rodriguez while in Beijing, I always think Carlos would be a great fit for her at this stage of her career. Muguruza is still young and she already has 2 slams under her racket, she has power and a big game but lacks patience and consistency. Muguruza is not the type of players who collect titles on tour, so she needs to position herself well at big tournaments and slams, she cannot afford being knocked out in early rounds. Carlos seemed to know how to work with that, partnership with Li Na produced great results especially at slams and premier events, which is what Muguruza needs now, she needs to go deep in big events and collect another big trophy when opportunity knocks.

Another year another Halep showing everywhere but not playing maybe.
Last year she's even went to Moscow to not playing!

Huge win for Kerber. Fights back from 2-4 down to win the last 4 games and the match in 3 sets against Zhang.

Gets her revenge from last year where she lost in the 3R to Zhang.

Last years finalist, Sevastova loses in 3 to Svitolina.

Loses 600 points and will drop out of the top 25.

She was #11 for quite a while and at times she was inside the top 10 in the live rankings and was once just 9 points from the top 10 but she never actually cracked in.
