What a final we have here. Both guys obviously looking for their first Masters title, they had an excellent match at Wimbledon which went the distance.

H2H 1 is 1-1, Medvedev defeating Goffin in straights at the AO earlier this year.

Starts not before 4:00 pm, local time. Should be a fun match.

If Medvedev stays in the zone like today's second and third sets, I'd expect him to have an easy win tomorrow. We'll see if he's mentally tough enough.

Whoever wins tomorrow, we will have a maiden Masters 1000 champion for the 3rd time this season (following Thiem in Indian Wells and Fognini in Monte Carlo) and for the 2nd year in a row (Del Potro, Isner and Khachanov all won their maiden Masters titles last season).

Is the stranglehold of the Big 3 on these titles now finally beginning to wane?

They're not putting as much effort into them anymore

67% is still a good bet in a Big 3 v Field. Not near as bad as years back, though, for sure.

I voted “Mad Lad in” so by process of elimination that is Mad Lad in 2, no?

This. The thing is, it's much easier to win a masters when you only have to beat one of Fedalovic. The reason Fedalovic dominated masters for a decade and a half is because if one of them lost early, the other two would pick up the slack, and if two of them lost before the final, then the third would still be odds-on to reach the final, and win it.

if Goffin wins and Medvedev loses, then we will all know Medvedev is fake goods. Go Goffin

It would be just like their last meeting

Bullsheet Russian will control the match until he implodes near the end and Goffin prevails

Goffin deserves a masters, but so does Nishikori. I'd be surprised if Goffin wins tomorrow. I feel Medvedev is as good or better in almost every department (movement edge to Goffin), especially the serve.

Mdvdv in 2.

Meddy in 2.....unless Goffin finds a way to break Meddy's game, which is actually difficult to imagine.
The only thing that comes in mind is Goffin using angles, and make tall Meddy run. A risky tactic though.

I wish both these players all the best but who cares, really. I've got a reservation for the winner at The Lodge after they mug it up at the USO.

Maybe this will strip Medvedev of all those unnecessary e's to transform into MdvdvGOAT or transform Daveeed into DHBH-Stanimal-lite, but let's face it we all know the likely outcomes.

Medvedev has played a lot of matches in the last 3 weeks, but he hasn't played all that many sets and games. Goffin's only advantage is he should be fresher but it's not nearly enough to give him much of a chance I reckon.

And now their season is geared towards the Slams above everything.

It's been the case ever since 2017..
But when it matters the most, at slams.....
Man we better :censored: :censored:

To close to All! Goffin has been inching his way back after injury to the top again and Medvedev is at the top of his tennis game. Should be an outstanding match for the title in Cincy!

Crazy to think that Delpo won his first Masters last year! He was trailing the likes of Sock and Dimitrov!

For only the 2nd time since 06, will the Cinci final be played without any member of the big four. Grigor vs Nick a couple years back is the other one...

I'm so excited to watch a final where I know I'll be happy either way.

Either the kid continues his growth for his first breakthrough, or the 28 year old finally gets a career defining title.

Goffin's got a good chance. He takes the ball earlier, uses angles and has a great tennis IQ. I think it depends on his return vs Med's serve.
