Well, he ran into a red hot Medvedev. Plus, Nole is still reeling from Wimbledon I'd think. I am sure he'll get another chance to get the double golden Masters. Never say never.

I just enjoyed the match. Really good match.

What happened in Montreal though against Nadal? He was so plain and simple in that match. Seemed a lot more pumped up here.

It's much more than that. If you don't see a difference between Medvedev and Aliassime/Shapovalov/Zverev/Tsitsipas, then you aren't looking close enough.
 
Fun match. This can help Medvedev's career so much. What a performance, well deserved winner and I hope he beats Goffin.

Djokovic remains the man to beat though. I bet he will play excellent tennis at the US Open, where he will be much more difficult to stop...
 
Superb clutchbotting, excellent kyrgioslike serving with a hundred times better return and ground game. Both won 85 points. Djoko wasn't bad at all but had a mild blip and Med used it perfectly, very very impressive I am in awe.
 
WOW,, Medvedev girlfriend is super HOT. if you just remove that mole on left lip....... she would be perfection ?

yea but this guy is just very inconsistent. he is another Zeverev. he can do it in 3 set matches but in 5 setter at a Slam, he can't put together 7 matches in a row
 
I knew it! Just knew winning Cinci again this year was too good to come true. What gets me is how can Medvedev lose in straight sets to Kyrgios a couple of weeks ago, play like garbage against Nadal last weekend winning only a few games and then play absolutely lights out against Djokovic?! :rolleyes:The only thing I can ascribe it to is a matchup issue so Novak and his team really need to start working on some different tactics as Medvedev is one of those players he'll be coming up against many more times in future. Man, talk about frustrating.
 
I very much hope Med recovers, will be a travesty to lose to Goff. That was his only tough match so he should be able to have some energy left. David won't be too difficult if Dani plays like that.

Do not lump the kyrg and nad losses together ok? Nick served super well like Med himself today and Med choked those tiebreaks, happens against peak servebots. Nad was a collapse for sure, but his slice was a big part of it. Djokovic just doesn't have an epic slice, he prefers rhythm like Med himself so they play into each other's hands. Djok was the better player overall today but meds was super clutch and served in the zone, respect.

If he stays healthy, his chances in the next 1-2 years would be quite similar to this year...

Match-up...

Nadal is a tough match-up vs. most players, and especially the younger generation - who haven't met him often, and haven't built a game to counter his very specific game. For Djokovic (outside clay) and Federer (outside clay, and in these later years) it's not a tough match-up anymore.

On the other side, Federer can have an off-day against anyone in the current generation, and so does Djokovic. Especially in M1000s and lesser tournaments...

She is super hot. but she is very consiantous about that mole on the left lip. she tries to hide it at every turn. It can be removed by good plastic surgeon without leaving a scar. I am sure Danill can afford it now. That mole is pretty big....

But he's not wrong though. He'll have more chances to win it, but it's hard to envision a better path than Medvedev/Goffin in Cincinnati. That's as good as it gets.

With the draw they were giving him it made absolutely no sense to take it off. I just don't buy the rest angle. There are days off between matches at the USO and first two or three matches should be stress free.
 
I have never seen this "I don't give a f... tactics" against Nole, serving two first serves for 2 sets. It was interesting to watch that for the first time.
Anyway congrats Medvedev, no one tried that for all this years and it was a perfect tactics today when your serve is clicking like that.
Gl in finals, hope you take it.
Nole, you were good, no need to analyze it to much. That was wierd :)
