Rafa is crying for Agut and the win, of course.

Very nice dedicated players from Spain, Rafa and Agut especially. Well done Agut and Spain. Would not know how Agut found the strength to play after his Dad's death

so I guess for French open 2020, RAFA to win again ?? I think Thiem can beat him if RAFA plays like this again

Before the Rome Masters I never thought Nadal would be where he is now. But he is world number 1 for good reason. I won't say a word if he decides to retire tomorrow or starts to struggle a lot from 2020 forward. Legendary athlete...
No, no, no. I don't want this to happen. Without him tennis will die.

Imagine he struggles from here on, and 50 years from now people will go "Fed made the Wimbly finals at 37, what did Nadal do after 2019?"

It lived before him, it will continue to live after him.
Hey! Still plenty of work to be done in the years to come, no? ;)
I would be lying if I said I am not excited by the possibility of Rafa achieving that certain goal. ;) Just saying I won't hold it against him whatever he does. So much spectacular tennis over the years to say anything bad about the guy.

Good thing I will be under ground by then and not hear those people.

When Saffin retired, I remember him saying he wouldn't hang around tennis talking about his matches with Sampras all the time. Why is he back?

Yeah kicked ass of eventual WTF champion, made a comeback from 1-5 30-40 in the third set, hasn’t dropped serve in 8 matches, won a title for his country, finished as YE#1.

What a pathetic end of the season for this loser.
Next year will be betterer

Pfff millennials and their participation trophies smh. In all seriousness, I’m confident both Canada and Shapo will win a DC in the near future. These kids can play and next time they’ll have Milos and a healthy FAA. This was a very valuable lesson learned for both Shapo and FAA.

Congrats to Nadal and Spain, what a year it’s been for Rafa and the last 15 or so years of Spanish tennis has been dominant.

Not bad prize money for Spain and Canada.

(USD, converted from euros)
Winner: $2.4 million to players / 1.06 to the Federation
Finalist: 1.75 to players / 844,000 to the Federation
Semifinalists: 1.5 million to players / $750,000 to Federation
Quarter-finals: 1.28 million to players / 600,000 to federation
Group stages: 600,000 to players / 300,000 to federation

This will make a huge difference to the lower-ranked players on the team, and will allow the countries to invest in their development programs.

Of course, it would be nice if some of that money went to countries who don't have much in the way of funds to develop their programs.

Damn speeches cut off in Canada and those videos geo-blocked
My English is not advanced but I am going to try to translate:

Nadal: " despite having won 8 of 8 matches, I honestly say the heroe of the tournament was Bautista-Agut and not me"

Bautista: "All the players have made an incredible effort, especially Rafa, going back to sleep so late and playing next day, we are capable of doing this because we are Spaniards". Rafa cries and laughs.
