Why are people congratulating Nadal now instead of like 24 hours ago? You think if Djokovic won things would have gone differently? Didn't we all see him get bagelled in Rome when he was tired?

We're about to find out if all Gunter Bresnik's ridiculous training was worth it or not.

If Thiem loses, it won't be because he's tired. Let's just get that out of the way.

He plays more tennis than anyone. He can handle a routine straight set match on Thursday, 2.5 sets on Friday and 2.5 sets on Saturday. Unless he managed to drag Rafa deep into a late 4th or 5th set, fitness won't be an issue for him.

That match trolled the Djoker fans hard.

That's the awesome part about this. I'll be honest I was cheering for Novak so we could at least get a decent final (before it went 5 sets and all that other stuff and I knew Nadal would win regardless), but I'm actually pretty happy right now we won't have to deal with massive Djoker fanboys talking about the CYGS and all that other crap like he had a prayer against Nadal.

P.S. Djoker fanboys are not to be confused with real Djoker fans, and at least most of the Nadal trolls will be gone after RG.

You rushed the thread and forgot to put Thiem's name.

Rafa in 3, might take Dominic to the bakery in one.

Congrats to Thiem! He is not the strongest when it comes to holding up under pressure but it is all the more commendable that he managed to overcome the nerves. I think Nadal vs Thiem at RG will be a more interesting encounter this time around.

Djokovic needs to unwind himself a bit. One of his weaknesses is that he seems to pile up stress. There comes a point where he needs to reset and now with Wimbledon coming is just the time for that.

Not as straightforward a match as people are assuming. Surely Thiem is going to win a set at some point against Rafa? He's too good not to.

6-3 4-6 7-5 6-2 to Rafa I predict with maybe the weekend just starting to catch up to Thiem after he briefly scares Rafa to death in the third.

Today illustrates how age impacts a player. 2011 or 2015 Djokovic is never even taken to 5 sets by Thiem and closes it out easily. At 32, his losses will mount and his level will fluctuate a lot more than at his peak. That's normal and happens to them all.

Yep. You Fed fans learned it and now Nole fans have to go through it as well. Rafa takes so many breaks with the other majors his fans don’t experience the same.

Well the 2011 peak Djokovic was beaten by Fed. Do you think the current Thiem would beat that Fed?
Tennis is all about matchups, In a way the 2019 Djokovic isn't as bad, even though he is not prime.
His serve is far better and skill at the net too.

and that's why I said djoko wasn't the favorite after yesterday - when he was down 1-3 in the 3rd set.
