Jeez, Germanic fanboy in the final for Federer. This tournament is officially worse than the 2004-07.
Is it any better than last years FO for you, where Thiem bent over to Rafa?

Last year was supposed to be another "vulture" too.
Let's see how it plays out.
Idk. I don't think he is. You'd have to ask all the Nadal & Djokovic fans who were complaining during last year's event.Since when has Del Po been easy for Fed
Please direct your salt to Mallorca...will aid in the patellar therapy.Jeez, Germanic fanboy in the final for Federer. This tournament is officially worse than the 2004-07.

27. You left out The Real Slam.Just like he took those 20 even "bigger titles" he won.![]()
Congrats to Fed in vulturing an extremely bad IW. Continues to get soft paths in basically everything
They can’t be that soft. He hasn’t won a Masters title in a year and a half nor made even a semifinal at a slam in over a year.Congrats to Fed in vulturing an extremely bad IW. Continues to get soft paths in basically everything
Proud soldier in the Germanic Mafia!
Broken tearsYe he does sadly, may have add some of the weakest opponents in route, but whatever. It's obvious who had the tougher draws

Take it easyLol, I can post joke opponents Fed has lost to as well, ofc age excuse, injury, mono, it's all the same with you hypocrites lol
Federer was 7-0 against Del Potro at M1000 losing only 2 sets before last years final
Right. I’m not saying he didn’t get a weak ass draw here, but he certainly hasn’t been vulturing “basically everything”. The opposite is more the case.Maybe because that's because he's both fallen a bit off and because he's got tougher opponents in the ones he doesn't win and the ones he did were extremely weak?
Take it easy

He hasn't won it yet. And besides, the guy is 37. Not his problem the tour sucks.Congrats to Fed in vulturing an extremely bad IW. Continues to get soft paths in basically everything
Yeah, the IW/Miami double in 2016 was so exciting....Ye he does sadly, may have add some of the weakest opponents in route, but whatever. It's obvious who had the tougher draws

I would never take anyone who said that seriously. Not sure how many people actually seriously said that though. Del Potro is obviously better than Thiem on a HC. It's not close IMO.
I would never take anyone who said that seriously.
But I wouldn't take anyone seriously who says a 37 year old would "vulture" any tournament, which was the point I was trying to make to BrokenGears with his silly dig at Fed. It's all ridiculous.

By this year, you mean 2016?Djokovic had it tougher than Fed this yr in IW IMO, Miami remains to be seen even tho that was an extremely crap tourney
IMO, so is Fed.I agree. But it's worth noting that Thiem is playing a lot better than in London.
This is probably his 2nd easiest draw at IW or so. It's ok.It's not a silly dig at all, it's perfectly legitimate and hiding behind the age excuse doesn't mean its ok for Fed to get easy opponents
Well, he was easy until RG in 2009 and in 2012 until RG.Since when has Del Po been easy for Fed
By this year, you mean 2016?
At best, if Fed wins IW tomorrow, it will be close to Miami 2016 in terms of difficulty more or less.Djokovic had it tougher than Fed this yr in IW IMO, Miami remains to be seen even tho that was an extremely crap tourney
Thiem wins the occasional match against Nadal because Rafa cannot play all clay tournaments with the same intensity anymore. I don’t want to say he tanked the matches, but he took Rome not fully seriously in 2017 and Madrid isn’t his best clay masters anyway. The other losses were in 2015 when he was in a slump and lost to many players.Where? You mean RG? Or just masters?
For me, lots of players can take out Roger on clay. And Thiem is one of them.. if Thiem can beat Rafa in Bo3, then..

At least he'll show up :*

Federer was scheduled to meet Nadal in the semis and Djokovic in the finals. He turned up for both semis and finals, they did not, how exactly is it vulturing?
Fed's draw here has turned out to be easy. No arguments here. But he still has to beat a guy 12 years his junior tomorrow. Let's hope he pulls it off.Federer was scheduled to meet Nadal in the semis and Djokovic in the finals. He turned up for both semis and finals, they did not, how exactly is it vulturing?
So a 37 year old is still required to beat the #1 or #2 player in the world in order to be a legitimate title? It's not a silly dig at all, it's perfectly legitimate and hiding behind the age excuse doesn't mean its ok for Fed to get easy opponents
Then by definition, Rafa's USO 2017 draw or Djokovic's USO 2018 draws were strong?
Nah, if Fed can't even beat Thiem in a HC masters final, then he really doesn't deserve to win any big titles anymore.I don’t think Fed will have an easy match at all. Thiem played a solid, controlled match today. Unforced errors were kept to a minimum and his shot selection was much better than it has been.
After Fed got his 100th I felt satisfied. Would rather see him give us a few more matches to remember than cruise to more titles.

Thiem is the best opponent Federer could have hoped for in a HC masters final.
