There's an amusing subplot here: From the start, Andreescu has been accidentally hitting Kerber with the ball after winning a service game and bunting the extra ball across the net. Kerber doesn't look pleased by that.

There are a lot that Kerber not pleased at the moment and that petty thing isn't one of them.

After that break, Andreescu threw the extra ball at the ground rather than hitting it across the net, thus insuring that Kerber wouldn't be hit.

It sounded lik Bianca was losing her self-confidence during that changeover talk with her coach.

Kerber's defense and Andreescu's lack of fitness will be the difference in this match, I predict.

There's a large fitness gap between these two that's affecting the results in an increasingly significant way.

Do you think it's a lack of fitness on Bianca's part? this is her 28th match of the year. By my count, Kerber has had about 15. When you play such a physical style (both of them) it's bound to make a difference, won't it? Having said that, Kerber is a physical beast. She is amazing in the fitness department.

What I love about this match, is just when you think one of them can't possibly hit one more shot....they do!
True grit by both. And great all-court rallies.

Bianca is still young and not used to going so deep in a tournament. She also has some baby fat like Osaka a few years ago.
Having played a tough 3 setter yesterday and playing under the hot sun today make it tough against a great defender like Kerber.

Baby fat...

Kerber may run away with 3rd set now. Will be tough physically for Andreescu to come back.

Bianca struggling physically. I can't believe she's lasted this long.
Andreescu's coach is a great pep-talker.

Well, if Kerber chokes away this set it's her own fault. Andreescu is carrying a lot of weight, sort of Ostapenko-esque in that regard. She has the skills. We'll see if she has the dedication to get fit.

well, well, well.
Bianca breaks back! Throwing everything back that she has. Can she hold on? I have not idea. It's a tough ask.

But...my...what an amazing talent coming up!

Yeah, I'm not a fan of people saying 'baby fat'. Bianca's fit. She's solid. Nothing wrong with her build!
A little too much weight to carry around in top level singles. To get to the elite level, she needs to shed some lbs like Osaka did...
If she comes back here to win, she will show Nadalesque mental toughness.

Can the coach come out only for the player who lost the last game or two?

Seems to be working for her.

I think Bianca's groundstrokes are so good, she doesn't need to resort to moonballing, dropshots, etc. It really threw off her timing in the 2nd set.
