And I'm rooting for Djokovic in a possible RG final against Nadal. In fact, I would root for Nole over Thiem in an RG final as well (seriously).
Where does Djokovic stand for you on your list of current players to root for?

Fed has played 11 Masters Series events since the start of 2017.

He's reached at least the SF in 10 of them. Incredible consistency.
Peak Federer confirmed. According to Zverev, Masters 1000 are the ones that matter. GS suck

I predict Thiem in 2. Judging by the poll results, most people agree with me.

Thiem 6-2, 6-3 is my guess.

Odds:
1,5 on Thiem
2,45 on Federer

Not a surprise but dude I am not used to seeing Fed as the underdog. When was the last time he wasn't favored to win a match? 2017 Shanghai vs Nadal?

If Fed serves 70-75%, I expect at least one tiebreak. Even Opelka could take a set off Thiem. It won't be a rout.
Federer is servinig nowhere near as well as Opelka. Plus, his movement looked unimpressive at best against Monfils.

I think it will be a massacre.

Are you seriously asking @BeatlesFan that question? :)
Yeah, just confirming if water is still H2O..:D
I know she's the one who roots for roger even if he's playing against her... xD...
Still wanted to confirm as I've been observing her favouring thiem for some weeks...
But nope, she decimated the doubts' cloud...
All hail her highness @BeatlesFan the goat feder fan...

Het, please lay off mixing mind-altering drugs with shots of Bacardi 151 prior to posting. Thank you. :p;)
Roflmao, yeah I'll surely keep in mind the next time:laughing:
Glad that my attempt got a smile on your gorgeous face.. ;)

I always root for Fed but seriously anything he wins now is gravy. That he saved match points today and went on to win in the tiebreaker was impressive. I saw the first set and went for my run. Came back and Fed was down 1/4 in the final set. Some tense moments for me for sure

Funnily enough Fed was underdog against Rafa at Shanghai but favourite in Miami. The more boggling thing is that his odds in IW was worse than AO!

Rog has defeated Monfils on sheer will - he played garbage. Bo5 he probably doesn’t win it.

Thiem in two fairly comfortable sets, unless he starts slowly and Rog blitzes him. Then Thiem in 3 with the last one being a bakery product.

I'll be surprised if Fed even gets to a TB in this match. I don't mind him losing here tbh. He needs a match like this to see where he really stands on clay atm.
He really doesn't need to see where he stands on clay. This ain't 2009 anymore. Clay is a been there, done that for him now.

If this were a video game, clay for Fed would be labeled as "campaign completed".

If there's one guy who played garbage, that's Monfils in the first set.

Well, a few more questions for tonight @BeatlesFan, are you optimistic about roger's chances ?? How much of the favor would you like to give him!? I think its 70-30 thiem...
@HetTheGreaterer I'm not optimistic about Roger beating Thiem solely because of his age. 25 year Roger would beat him easily, but those days are long in the past. However, I disagree with some posters thinking Thiem will "destroy" Roger. I think it'll be 7-5, 6-4 for Dom. I think your 70%-30% for Thiem is accurate. It wouldn't be shocking to me if Roger somehow won. Roger beating Djoker in the next round though? I'd put that one at 88% Nole, 12% Roger.

Hopefully, Federer takes a set off of Thiem. I give Thiem a 95% chance of winning and 50% chance of winning in straight set. Fed is way too rusty on clay right now. He's also a couple of months older than Thiem.

I believe Thiem will win this one. Fed's serve and movement were suspect and there's more than a couple of times when he just decided to rush the net no matter what where I went "he got lucky on that one".

I think Thiem has to slip up somewhere and condition suit Roger here. The court suits fast play, and roger has the ability to take the time away for Thiem to prepare his shots.

It all depends on whether Roger wakes on the right side of the bed tomorrow.

@Hitman I have always liked Rafa more, but I have to say, I respect Djokovic perhaps a bit more. He came back from mental doldrums and nobody's ever done that in men's tennis. That was truly spectacular. I don't expect Roger to win the FO, obviously, so my second favorites would be Stan or Fognini. I would root for them over Djokovic, but in an RF final against Nadal, I would root for Novak. And I would say that even if both were sitting at, say, 18 majors. I feel Novak is too far behind Roger's slam count to catch him, so I can still root for him on occasion, even in slams. Now if he gets to 19, then I would root against him in every slam. That's my honest answer.
