Me too. He looked horrible. But Albot couldn’t cope when Fed found a slightly better level at the end there.
Weird match, I kind of feel like I want to give some credit to Albot but then I also think that the standard of the match was generally very poor.
There wasn't really a good ground stroke hit until the end of the 3rd set. All by Federer. Looked like a challenger match from the ground.

Albot did great for his general skill level. Kept a lot of balls in play. Made it a bit tough on Fed. We've seen players like that give Federer trouble before and especially in very slow conditions, but yes, the match was most certainly "on Federer's racquet." It was only a question of whether he was eventually going to play well enough to win before it was too late.

In one day, tons of men’s Miami tour seeded players fell today! Schwartzman, Khachanov, Stevie Johnson, Wawrinka, Pella, Cilics!

It like 50% of the matches with men’s seeded players lost today!

Set and a half, probably. Those couple shots he hit at 3-3 to go down BP in the 2nd were so bad you wondered if they were done on purpose. It felt like he only cared about winning after he saved that BP or thereabouts.
Losing the first set and then winning in three is pretty rubbish tanking ...

Maybe Fed just wasn't feeling it today, is still figuring out the new court, but found a way to win anyway? Just a thought.

Sure, you're probably right, but I honestly don't care whether he tried to tank or not. I don't even think he should be playing here given his heavy schedule lately.

Zverev is slower now. He isn't quite getting into position and preparing like he was in the first set. I think he's getting a bit gassed.

Which tends to happen if you play Ferrer -- especially in humid conditions.

Zed should be double breadsticking this retiring mug

Getting into a slug fest instead

What an embarrassment to the sport
Agreed on embarrassment, and at this point in their careers he definitely should be owning him.

With that said, Ferrer= mug ? come on now. In his prime, he was always a tough guy to beat because he was super fit and never gave up.
