He forgot to say number 1 fan."I love watching John Isner play"
- Roger Federer
There you have it. The final word.
http://www.tennisabstract.com/cgi-bin/player.cgi?p=RogerFederer&f=ACareerqqE0Q3Please for the love of god Roger don't blow another final set tiebreak.
Their h2h TBs is 4-4Federer to show Isner who the superior TB player really is. 7-6 7-6.
I think his chances on grass are even higher if he can avoid KAndy and Tsitsipas. If Federer wins here, I think his chances skyrocket on the grass and W.
or Djokovic.I think his chances on grass are even higher if he can avoid KAndy and Tsitsipas.
Please take that back, do not put that out in the universeIt will most likely be difficult. Isner must be serving very well so Fed May not get many looks and then even if he does, Break Pointerer has not gone away.
I’ve just got a horrible feeling that Isner gets it done in 3, winning two tie breaks.![]()
Whenever he's won Miami he's had a multi slam season. If Federer wins here, I think his chances skyrocket on the grass and W.
Djoko can sure make it far at RG. That may not be a good thing for Wimb though.or Djokovic.![]()
Whenever he won Miami, he had won IW first.Whenever he's won Miami he's had a multi slam season.
Djokovic will have three weeks off, since he won't play any tennis until W most likely.Djoko can sure make it far at RG. That may not be a good thing for Wimb though.
KAndy and Tsitsipas are guaranteed to be “fresh” for Wimb.
Semantics.Whenever he won Miami, he had won IW first.
Federer's first Master's final was in Miami in 2002, now he will play his 50th in Miami exactly 17 years later. How do you people know these things off the top of your head?
USO?Semantics.
IW guarantees a Wimbledon while the sunshine double gives him at least two. Let's see what Miami on its own will do.
Federer is looking very good here, in IW not playing Nadal IMO hurt him. Here he is playing all his matches and seems to be enjoying the court now.Roger loses another close final?
I don't feel too good about this for some reason. Just a hunch.
Of course, title no.101 would be amazing.
Grass is a heavenly abode for good servers.Djokovic will have three weeks off, since he won't play any tennis until W most likely.
Federer just savaged Tsitsipas in Dubai and Anderson in Miami, he will be ready for them should they meet on grass
Unfortunately, I have that same feeling. I hope it turns out wrong. Please take that back, do not put that out in the universe
Incredible thing is, Federer has only just equalled Nadal in Miami final appearances, yet the former has failed to win a single one.5th final in Miami for Federer (previously 2002 l.to Agassi, 2005 b. Nadal, 2006 b. Ljubicic, 2017 b. Nadal), 5th Masters 1000 final for Isner (previously 2012 IW l. to Federer, 2013 Cincinnati l. to Nadal, 2016 Paris l. to Murray, 2018 Miami b. Zverev).
Combined ages of the 2 finalists is 70, making them the oldest finalists In Masters 1000 history.
I guess we will see, a lot of tennis coming up before then.Grass is a heavenly abode for good servers.
Regarding Djoko, RG15 and Wimb 15 comes to mind. But he is 4 yrs older now. So it’s not going to be the same. Djoko can prove me wrong.
Federer is looking very good here, in IW not playing Nadal IMO hurt him. Here he is playing all his matches and seems to be enjoying the court now.
And he should be confident. That is how a final technically should be, contested between the two best of the event if possible. Isner has been clutch when it mattered a lot this tournament.Yeah but if it comes to a TB shootout, none of that helps. Isner is playing a final too, he'll be plenty confident behind that serve.
I am supposed to be the pessimistic fed fan here and you all are supposed tell me to cut that out and that fed will winUnfortunately, I have that same feeling. I hope it turns out wrong.
Fed has been returning well. So hopefully he will have some chances to break, and won't be relying on winning the tie-breaks.
I'm a jinx so I try to stay out of Fed discussionsI am supposed to be the pessimistic fed fan here and you all are supposed tell me to cut that out and that fed will win
The guy he just beat in the semis was a 2 year old toddler (much younger than any of Fed's kids) when Federer played his first final in Miami.Federer's first Master's final was in Miami in 2002, now he will play his 50th in Miami exactly 17 years later.
Surprisingly the guy he beat to win his first ever semi in a Masters also wore his cap backwards as the guy he beat for his 50th....The guy he just beat in the semis was a 2 year old toddler (much younger than any of Fed's kids) when Federer played his first final in Miami.
Sorry ...I am supposed to be the pessimistic fed fan here and you all are supposed tell me to cut that out and that fed will win
