Isner has been broken a few times this tournament (twice by faa). And Fed has been returning well. So on paper based on that it should be a quick 64 63.

But.... these days I never know when aulderer shows up.

Side note, it's utterly ridiculous that Federer made the final here 17 YEARS AGO.

Fed in 3

It should be an easy win but when is it ever easy for Fed these days? I still expect him to come out the victor.

Come on, he played one really bad match this tournament (right at the start), but the other 4 were good, partly even ridiculously good.

Of course you never know with Isner and his serving, but Federer’s form itself is great, especially in long rallies.

I think the point is that is form can appear/disappear in the space of a day (or even within a match). Roger looked great at Wimbledon too last year, right until halfway through the Anderson match.

Isner can beat world no1
Isner almost beat rafa at Roland garros
Isner is slam less like Zvrev
Isner is great for tennis

Federer in 2, unlikely 3. Isner's problem is that even though he has been playing well this week, he has been losing serves. He was not the best player against FAA, it was just another choking next gen he played. Isner will not be breaking Federers serve, and Federer seems to have it easiest against servebots (opposite for Nadal and Djokovic). I say Federer wins 6-3, 6-4.

Anyone knows why Miami men’s singles final is always played at 1 pm on Sundays? What a horrible time!
I always go out with family for lunch on Sundays, and I will miss the match.

I would be happy with either of them of winning. Their Us Open 4th round in 2015 was a quality one but Roger's focus on that day was really sharp and ready.

It's actually a really good time. It's early enough in the day to finish the match if it rains later in the day. Also, if it is raining at the scheduled start time, there is enough time to wait out the rain and still get the match in on the Sunday.

idk what i'll do if federer does manage to break but then doesn't hold serve.

Not to mention European viewers actually able to watch at a normal hour

Conditions may loom large for this final. It's overcast, chances of rain throughout the afternoon and cloudy. This will slow conditions down and make first strike tennis virtually impossible. Will also make Isner's serve an easy prospect if the weather stays as predicted.

Hopefully Roger will leave his fears and doubts in the locker room. I wanna see a conqueror on the court and a straight set win !

His opponent is a notch or two higher than last year’s runner up, no?
Sure, but RF up against the defending Champion Isner! RF been playing top notch for the entire tournament, it time for him to come down to Earth in the final and make is usual error filled game. Isner is going go for it since he wants to defend his title and repeat again!

Amen, let it be so.

I think Roger's going to be prepared.

I don't think he wants to lose 2 Master's finals in a row on hard courts.

Just like Indian Wells, I was feeling super nervous the day before, but now that it's almost here I'm feeling strangely calm.
