Once Bianca put the pain aside and starting hitting DTL again, she wins sets at 6-1 against Kerber, who had won 2 Grand Slams in 2018:

FINISHED
B. ANDREESCU 6 4 6
A. KERBER(8) 4 6 1

For Kerber to call Bianca "the biggest drama queen ever" is unfair. We could clearly see during the match, Bianca grimacing and trying to stretch that shoulder after points...

She had her arm worked on and then another time during the changeover.

Kerber took 10 minutes to change after the second set.

There was no drama in the match
Players don't say those sort of things for no reason, especially someone like Kerber who is usually diplomatic.

I'm sure we'll find out what it is in the presser.

She's won the most matches on tour this year. That's a ton of play from someone ranked outside the top 150 a few months ago.
She was having issues with the same arm in IW.

Clearly me? Well maybe use the quoting system..

Firstly, I'm a massive Kerber fan, so i'm cheering for her, don't think I need to explain that one.
Secondly, I never said anything negative. What did I say that has you saying i'm bothered? Because I said LMAO people had her winning the Sunshine double when she was down a set and break?

I just don't care to hype a player up, it's been done far, far too much on this place before with Bouchard, Garcia, Bencic, Mladenovic, Osaka and so many more. Fantastic, Bianca won Indian Wells. Garcia won Wuhan and Beijing back to back and has since won just one International tournament and hasn't gone past the 4R of a slam. I'm giving Bianca some time before I declare her the next big thing.
Osaka has already won two slams and is also the first to follow up her maiden slam with another in the very next slam she played since Capriati. Bencic ran through a tough field in Dubai and lost to Kerber in the semis in IW, no shame in that. As for Andreescu, she is the first wildcard winner of Indian Wells and beat tough players including, of course, Kerber en route. Lumping these players with Bouchard, Garcia or Mladenovic is a bit much, don't you think?

I love moments like this, where Kerber is beside herself now and just full of hate, probably for herself more then anyone else! Two straight lost to the same player in a weeks time!o_O Very interest how Kerber’s ice cold demeanor turn anger:mad:

Exactly! Kerber is a sore loser. Even more, she wouldn't have deserved to win with half winners compared to Bianca and similar number of UFEs. All Kerber did was pound Bianca's BH and second serve. Her drops shots and lobs + slices were laughable.

I can't understand why she abandoned the tactic that won her the second set.

Sure it was petty but it just shows how quick the hype train approaches. Play two good tournaments and suddenly you're outgunning several champs on that list. She has almost as many votes as every other player on the list combined (ignoring 'others).
True, but is based on Bianca's game as well, not only on results.

Bouchard made a slam final, slam SF's and cracked the top 5 in 2014 and was labelled as the next multi slam champ, really wanna pretend like me lumping her in was an anomaly?

Bencic won a Premier 5 title back in 2015 but then struggled for quite a while after several injuries and is only just now finding form.

Mladenovic won a Premier title, made a Premier 5 final and cracked the top 10 and made a slam QF and then plummeted off the face of the earth.

Garcia did more than Andreescu did when she won a Premier 5 and Premier Mandatory tournament in back to back weeks and qualified for the WTA Finals...

Forgive me if im not ready to declare Bianca as the next gigantic thing for the WTA when many others were hyped and fell through.

Kerber didn't do anything different in the second set, it was Bianca who had stopped hitting DTL. Once she went again to change directions, Kerber was breadsticked.

All the players you mention don't have as a complete game as Bianca has. All she needs is to stay healthy enough and motivated to accede to the top.

Thread bump.
Destroyed by 18 yo sensation Andreescu second time in a week. Classless ugly hand shake from sour Angie.
What did Kerber say to Andreescu at the net?
Called her a drama queen.
Kerber usually does the cheek to cheek fake kiss with her opponents! I guess she was not in the mood at the end of the match that she lost! LOL!
What a drive-by handshake from Angie!

Yet another fascinating rivalry to enjoy on the WTA Tour. So much good tennis at the moment.

Kerber will be simmering...... As @NuBas mentioned, hostilities will resume on clay. I can't wait.

I'm so excited for Bianca. Great game, fierce, etc. Didn't go over the moon for her as that spot is already filled with Naomi back since '16.

Try imagine if Ash Bar winning IW/Other premier 5/Mandatory and back her run by playing good in the subsequent tournament you must be feeling the hype and cheer her to death Aussie.

Highlights:
Petra Kvitova vs. Donna Vekic

Angelique Kerber vs. Bianca Andreescu

Caroline Wozniacki vs. Monica Niculescu

Ashleigh Barty vs. Samantha Stosur

Kerber knew she was winning.
But bianca broken shoulder took some sympathy

Labelled yes, but never won a single slam unlike Osaka. And what Garcia or Mladenovic did was well into their 20s, not a teen bursting into the scene running the table at IW like Andreescu. So yes, there's nothing to pretend, you are over correcting for the hype brigade.

She’s obviously going to be different then the others because she’s younger but the point is this: we’ve seen several players whether teenagers or in their 20s have very similar breakouts on the tour and then fade away to nothing, I don’t want that to happen to Bianca, I don’t think that will happen to Bianca but forgive me if I want to watch how she goes before I go ahead and declare her a future number 1. This all started because a poster was unhappy I was cheering for Kerber. I’m so sorry I still cheered for one of my favourite players over a newcomer. I hope Bianca goes on to become the next Osaka. I just want to watch it first.

I would definitely be cheering her to death because I’m an Australian who loves Ash. I would not be declaring her a future number 1 because I’ve seen how this forum and the public overhype players and then tears them to shreds when they don’t deliver.

Y’all can cheer for Bianca all you want, I never said hey why are you cheering for Bianca over Kerber? You can do what you want. I’m still gonna cheer for my faves and watch how Bianca is doing and hope for the best for her. If she becomes a future #1 like people are already declaring after three good months then that’s fantastic, if it doesn’t happen, at least she’ll forever be an Indian Wells champ. I’m just not going to join the hype train and then be disappointed if she starts losing like so many other hyped players before her did.

You should cheer for your favourite player. That's normal.
But l must admit that Andreescu is far more entertaining to watch than most. She has so much variety.
And, as you know, I'm not a Kerber fan, so I was especially pleased she's beaten her twice in quick succession.
That said, Kerber is playing far better since her no.1 days. Now, that was tragic.

She’s absolutely entertaining and I enjoy watching her play.

Does anyone remember when Andreescu had the visor malfunction? I swear, to me it looked like she reached up and tore it off herself. There didn’t appear to be anything wrong with the visor, it was strange.

Yeah, looked like it.

Kerber made a come back and was winning that set. There is an opponent on the other side of the net who made an adjustment afterwards lol To me it seems that Bianca started hitting hard and DTL again, despite pains in her shoulder.

Andreescu looks better with a white visor anyways but she may have torn it too! It was quick and does not seem like it was broken at the time she grab the black visor. Maybe that was to further tic Kerber off! LOL!

Lol, I know, and then she went to the chair ump like, how did this happen? I need to change my hat asap.

Well, there you go, I was more curious as to how you managed to include Osaka in a group of players who have never won a slam. I mean, if Osaka fades away to nothingness from here, she would have still achieved more than Bouchard/Mladenovic/Garcia unless they win at least two slams.
