It's time for the undoubtedly highest level ATP 500 Grass tournament.
All respect for Barcelona and Halle, who respectively are no. 2 and 3, Halle is a great tournament, but it lacks the same issue as Barcelona, it has very low variety of winners.
Queen's has had 9 different winners the last 14 years, and has a lot of history, and often has pretty good player field.

I have had a tough time finding when the draw is gonna be, but I am pretty sure it is on Saturday. (Last year it was the Saturday 13:00 CET)

Tsitsipas is the top seed, and if anyone were confused then Murray is playing doubles but not singles.

3 wildcards have been awarded, and it is still possible for Murray, Djokovic or/and Nadal to get a WC if they want, but it seems very unlikely as the tournament stars pretty soon.

One of the wildcards are the 2017 champion Feliciano López, who is the only spaniard to dislike clay and love grass.

"Undoubtedly highest level", really?

Certainly Queens has the better reputation than Halle, and has often had the stronger field (apart from Federer). However, this year Halle has Fed, Zverev, Thiem, Nishikori from the top 10, while Queens has Tsitsipas and Anderson. OK, Cilic and Raonic are there, so we've got three Wimbledon finalists. But even so, I think I'm going to take Halle over Queens this year.

del Potro is at Queen's too, and it was more like how it usually is. Looking at the last 10 years Queen's have been the better tournament, and Djokovic or/and Nadal, Murray usually plays there. Also Thiem and Nishikori is not really anything on grass, probably even Karlovic could beat them on grass.

Queen's Club had Delpo too, albeit coming back from injury so not quite back to 100% form wise. Why aren't Djokovic and Nadal playing a grass warmup? I've noticed that for the Eastbourne tournament the week after, most of the seeds scheduled to play are basically clay courters in the first instance... Let's see how many make R2/R3.

Wow ok, that's actually kind of crazy, gonna be a fun tournament, it would be like if the Houston Open was on real clay as nobody would really feel home.

this tournament sucks now that RAFA won't play. there are no good players

? Rafa last won in 2008 and hasn't been too the final since.

Of course he adds star power whether he goes but I'd argue the tournament is feeling Murray's absence more.

For years Murray was the highest ranked player to play Queen's and was always the biggest draw there for the home crowd. His absence was keenly felt last year although Djokovic stepped into the gap and kept the interest going. Unfortunately that won't be the case this year but Murray's presence at least in the doubles will add some excitement.

Rafa hasn't played Queens since they put in grass courts in Palma, Mallorca. He's taken his boat over to Palma and lived on that, practiced for a couple of hours and then goes fishing. I'd say he's got life figured out, no? :p

Just like your daily posts? :-D:-D

So when he comes back and is playing 1/2 of his normal self and keeps on losing in 2nd and quarterfinal rounds, you would still cheer him on and hope he continues to play ,,, Right ?? That is what you are saying..... ??

They've got hardcourts and claycourts in Mallorca too but I note he doesn't go fishing there when Indian Wells and Monte Carlo are on.

You're just being silly now. What's he supposed to do - stuff his 80' yacht in his luggage and schlep it over to the desert in California? He golfs when he's in Indian Wells as he does quite regularly in Mallorca - is he allowed to do that according to your rules? And I wouldn't be surprised if he's gone fishing when he's in Monte Carlo - he's quite involved with the boats over there.

I just want him and the other top players to support the grass season by playing something else other than Wimbledon. After all he does it for clay and hardcourts so why is that so silly?

Clay is his lovebaby. He played exactly one HC tournament below 1000s in the last year IIRC

I'm going on Wednesday. Just seen the schedule for Monday and it's the bottom half of the draw playing. Does anyone know whether Queens always follow the patter of bottom half/top half days for the 2nd round?

If so all the players I would have wanted to see, I won't as they are all in the top half.

Uh, oh! Tsits is on the path of war!

"We can come up with something new and come up with our best games to beat those guys. It is all a matter of character and feeling responsible of what we're doing out on the court.

"Some people don't want to take that responsibility of going out and winning and saying 'I'm going to overcome all those difficulties. I am going to beat those guys and I feel like I can beat them'.

"If some of the NextGen players believe that, if the younger generations think positively we can achieve a lot of things.

"I hope at Wimbledon this will happen."

He plays the hardcourt Masters. Grass doesn't have a Masters as we all know so Queen's and Halle are the principal warm-up events for Wimbledon.

if Tsitsipas wins this tournament, his confidence will be so high that he could upset Federer or RAFA at wimby. and look for Mannarino to reach semifinals at wimby

I dunno. He didn't actually get off to a flying start last week, did he?

Tsitsipas for me seems like a quiet clever player, a bit like Thiem on clay. Zverev does not raise his level in GS, but it seems that Tsitsipas does, and the same for Thiem if we compare his consistency in RG with other clay tournaments. So Tsitsipas last week maybe shows he is not going to be as good as big 3, but I still think he is the fourth favourite for WB, and yet I don't think his Queen's result will have an impact on his WB.

Medvedev played a smart grass match. Took a lot of risk to come to the net and played out of his comfort zone of pushing. Looking forward to see him going far in Queens! Boy don’t I love his hair colour!

Watching Cilic play right now, utterly destroying Garin. I'll be interesting to see how Cilic plays over the next week because he's my dark horse pick for Wimbledon.

Absolutely outstanding from Cilic in the next game, had a poor service game and then breaks back to love to restore his break lead with some excellent shots.

And a first return has the Cilic off forehand way off. Garin serving 3-0:love: big serve 4-0.... 2nd serve...Cilic gets one back for 1-4
