Just setting up his excuses for when he loses.Muscle tightness should not be allowed a medical timeout, IMO. Cramps are different. Another delay tactic from Tsitsipas.
Nah. Tsitsipas has the results to back it up. He's just struggling on the grass, as I'm sure a lot of young players do because the surface is becoming more and more rare.I guess Tsitsipas is overhyped. AA with 3 very good wins in a row here though.
Strategic MTO. Far from the only one to ever do that. Probably trying to get his head together a bit but this one looks like it is over.Muscle tightness should not be allowed a medical timeout, IMO. Cramps are different. Another delay tactic from Tsitsipas.

I agree with that 100%. I just don't think he's overrated in general. He's full value for what he's achieved thus far.He was hyped after clay season by people saying his style is better for grass. I said we haven't seen him on grass much yet. He doesn't have any big wins on it, had an easy draw at Wimbledon, etc.
So far it looks like he isn't a natural grass courter despite his playing style.
Yep, but this is where an 18 year old like Felix can and probably wants to play a lot of tennis. He needs the experience from all those matches.IIRC, Tsitsipas said in a press conference something like somehow he always played badly against FAA since Junior. Didn't lookup their H2H in Junior.
FAA has a dubs match coming with Alex de Minaur against Evans/Skupski (after suitable rest) and another doubles later against Andy/Lopez, if they win. That's a lot of tennis!
Extremely well constructed point by @Sport
remind you of any other two players?what is it with Tsits having lopsided losing records against certain players so early in his career
not a good sign
If FAA breaks it's game, set and match.FAA will at least get a chance to serve for the match. Not really a good look for Tsitsipas to have the younger player beat him this consistently. But both are still young.
FAA was to much today for Tsitsipas!
He really is, though I think the best will come during the summer hard court swing. Absolutely cannot wait to see him play in his hometown at the Rogers Cup! Ideally it becomes something of a pet M 1000 for him during his career, but I'm getting way too far ahead of myself.Even if FAA advances no further, he's setting himself up well for the big W coming up!
When has FAA ever not been 'to' much for Tsitsipas?![]()
There were just about the same number of grass events 40 years ago as now. There’s also one additional week before a Wimbledon than in the past. Grass has always been a brief season in the tennis calendar for 40+ years.I'm sure a lot of young players do because the surface is becoming more and more rare.
I'm not just talking about on tour. It's been said that all over the world, at least especially here in North America, grass courts are becoming more and more of a novelty. It's hard to find a club that has them, even out of the high end, fancy ones. I don't know if many players nowadays get much exposure to grass as they develop which is why I say that there's likely a learning curve for all young players on tour on grass. There were just about the same number of grass events 40 years ago as now.
