Stan's movement has been excellent so far, not sure what you're seeing. He's not physically compromised from the Stef match at all, that's obvious.

Some people will always claim a player is tired or worn down the match after a long match, no matter what is happening.

LOL, not sure why you're getting your knickers in such a twist icedevil. If anything what I said is a compliment - loyalty is a very commendable attribute.

Yeah I was surprised by that response. She probably just took it the wrong way. I doubt she meant any offense. Your post was innocuous.

I can totally see these two playing five sets and the top half finalist winning his semifinal in five too.

It's really a play to take advantage of Stan's fatigue and wear him down, not necessarily to win baseline battles.
You're obviously not even watching this match. It was a misnomer to begin with that anyone thought Stan would be tired coming into this. He's shown no fatigue at all this match and won't show any unless it goes 4+ hours. And it won't be four uninterrupted hours since the rain is coming in 90 minutes.

I'm not seeing anything because I can't watch it. Lol I'm commenting on the posts in here describing the match.

Great hold from Fed. Quick service game. Within a game distance from Stan.
IF Fed breaks back, the match is basically over.
Stan doesn't have the legs to stay in the match if he were to lose this set. Then it would be bakery products in set 3.

I'm watching every point, you simply don't comprehend what I'm saying. Roger would like to square off from the baseline as an investment in order to wear Stan down, not because he is presently worn down. It is obvious.

Yeah that's my read.

Stan is done. That's why he's ranked so low.

Are you seriously watching the match and looking at Stan's footwork?
He is so late on many shots. He can't even hit inside out a bunch of times because his timing is late. The explosiveness is compromised as well.
It's all fair game, and it's really Stan's fault that he played a 5 hour match. But luck of the draw is always a factor. Fed did not have to play TsiTsipas, but Stan did.

terrible missed 2nd serve returns from fed standing back.
Stan dumps FH into the net. deuce.

Stan looks fresh still after the previous days 5 setter match with Tsitsipas!

Of course he does. He wasn't that stretched before that match and the fit players can back up a single 5-setter with another tough match. It's the round after this where Stan would probably hit the wall, not that it matters as it'll be Nadal anyway.

This isn't to say he's not digging into some reserves but he was never going to be weak here.

fed is being stubborn again. thinking he can go toe to toe with stan from the baseline like in the past. They're both different players now. That's not going to work anymore.

That's exactly right. I've seen Federer do that with Gasquet too... trying to hit though his backhand. But eventually Federer does smarten up.

Federer will find Wawrinka's forehand. Once he gets over the stubbornness.

Stan is not exactly a speedster. If anything his fatigue is showing through in his overhitting and UE's deep into rallies, not in terms of his movement.

This returning isn't good enough. Not even close. He's missed 3-4 returns in this game exactly like that. And he's only at deuce because of Wawa's errors and DFs. He's also not changing the rhythm of the points anywhere near enough.

Yeah. The current old-Stan is not much of a player in general. He is really only deadly against Djokovic because of matchup issues that Novak for whatever reason has against Stan.
But yeah, the current Stan would be thrashed by Nadal, Thiem etc too.

yeah but can he go down to rafa, atleast i know that was the best loss, i dont like fed losing and then stan flopping to nadal, it irks me when someone beats him only to flop to the other 2 of the big 3

honestly, I dont mind anyone going down to Nadal. Fed going down to Nadal is not what he needs at the moment. There is a lot of tennis to be played for the remaining of the year.

Nishikori could be a threat if he didn't get injured Every 5 minutes or waste his entire gas tank in 2 matches
Nishikorii would be hugely better if his body was not made of glass. He has it all. Undersized but has the skills to play big. Body is just not made of stone.
