Why is this thread lying low? I think the encounter is quite fascinating. Caruso playing well right now.

Caruso is a 26yo who had only played 7 tour level matches before this tournament, losing 6 of them. It's a very good performance to do so well at a grand slam coming in with such a modest record.

The Calabrese can play ball. Very impressed. Nole is gonna have to raise his level to take it.

Magna Greca. Aphrodite's son. If Djoko wasn't playing I would be rooting for him.

Folks who watched all matches so far: among the top 3, who looked the best so far, and how would you rank them?

The thing that is impressing me about the heavyweight champion is just how mentally strong he is out there, his opponent is really playing some inspired tennis with at times fearless ball striking. Earth's Mightiest shrugs it off and continues to remain clinical asking the question over and over again, until he gets the break through.

This is Zen mode Djokovic.

Caruso is playing very well. Takes some guts to trade backhands with Djokovic. This is top 20 tennis from him.

Do you think every opponent who is losing to Djokovic is playing well?

I agree. Zen like is a great description. He’s a machine out there. Very business like and Djoko juggernaut rolling along nicely. Serbinator in great form!

Very mentally sharp tennis from Djokovic even when he gets himself in trouble in his service games.

...are you watching the match? Maybe go Judge the level of play with your eyes...
Dude, this Caruso is a player I never heard about. THis is an absolutely routine match for Djokovic. But now somehow we find out he is potentially a top-20 player.

Again, are you watching the match? Do you watch tennis? Can you judge levels of play? How is the player playing? Is he playing sharp? Hitting high level groundstrokes? Is he mugging it up? Out of his league against Djoker?
