Well, he could have, you know, not mentioned it! But they all do it to be fair, not just a Djokovic thing.
No, he didn't mention it, the on court intervirwer asked him about it. Both question and reply were in Italian.

Sorry to tell you that but that spot is still occupied by Nadal
As much of a fighter Novak is, no way he had to endured as many setbacks and difficulties as Rafa. The dude gets injured constantly even facing career ending injuries at the starts of his career, and yet he still beating the odds. Not undermining the great hardships that a fine player like Novak has gone through.

Oh God this idea that nadal is the most injured player on the planet is no annoying. Yes he does face injuries and I know he has chronic knee issues but this narrative that he is always injured is annoying. Why doesnt he just play in bubble wrap. There are players who have legitimately had their careers thwarted and nadal isnt one of them. Maybe if nadal were just more honest and say he is skipping parts of the season to pro long his career people wouldn't buy into this narrative

The original post was about Novak, and between the two, Nadal is the one that dealt with more. Is not an argument, it is on the history. You may view it from a different framework.

It's like arguing with MJ fans. I wouldn't waste my time with them, they're blind.

Yes, well said. Rafa has missed many many months and tournaments. You can't help but wonder what his already impressive accomplishments would have been if he had been able to play as much as his cohorts have.

I can't understand why some people would be annoyed hearing about his problems. He gets accused of hiding his injuries and then gets maligned when he talks about them. They're a fact of his life and he should get credit for working so hard to come back on tour and be as successful as he has been and for providing many of the greatest matches of his era.

Is normal to take sides, Novak consistency is awe inspiring just like it is Nadals resilience. Sometimes, some are hard to give credit to the players they don't like.

he's hid his injuries? well if he has hid them, his camp has no qualms bringing them up. im not denying that nadal has been unfortunate with his injuries, but so have many players on tour. many play with some thing here and there and may not always be 100% also yes nadal has missed tournaments, but i feel like some of them were far more precautionary than him incapable of playing, which hey good for him, as he gets older he should get choosy with his tournaments but i honestly just wish he admitted that yes he is picking and choosing for his body and what works for him. its hard to take things seriously when you have someone saying he's not a tennis player but an injured person who plays tennis which imo is so ****ing insulting.

also i would like to add that his style of play has also attributed to his massive success so one can also say,hey maybe he wouldn't have had the same number of slams, particularly on a certain surface. it goes both ways. this narrative bothers me almost as much as nadal never loses while healthy. at the end of the day he has the number he has which is amazing.

First of all, Rafa didn't say that. Uncle Toni did. Rafa was very upset with his uncle and Tio Toni publicly apologized to Rafa, the first time I've seen something like that in all of Rafa's career.

And I'm sorry, but you're just not making any sense. Who should he and why should he apologize to you or anyone else for picking and choosing what tournaments he plays? What is there to admit? o_O

Don't get riled up. People are bringing views, observations and that is ok. is easier to keep it clean without getting too emotional. That said, they have had long careers with ups and downs. Novak is more complete and has a type of play that is less suited to injury. Rafa isn't, but that is Rafas fault. They are both great players and we should try enjoy them and admire them while they still with us.

huh who said anything about apologizing? where did i say that? i also know nadal didn't say it, but lbr rafa fans eat up that perpetuate that narrative all the time , including here. what im saying is that i think its great that he is picking and choosing to play tournaments. i think any player after a certain age who skips tournaments, kudos to them. we'll probably disagree on this but it was in regards to you saying he has missed many tourmaments and many months and my believe is that not every tournament he missed was completely unplayable and was precautionary or him thinking that he can prep for a tournament that he can have success at.

im not really riled up though? fairly calm irl. im not even a huge novak fan tbh, just tired of rafa fans woobifying him and making it seem like he is the single most injured player on the planet. i think what he's achieved is tremendous and amazing and he is a great talent (yes i said that because often that is downplayed for his fighting spirit) but i cant get behind this what if he wasn't injured, poor rafa always injured how does he go on, when he has the second most gs of active players and a long career. you know whose careers have been upset by injuries that they just can't get back to winning form or haven't been teh same since, del potro or you have players who have completely retired.

Agreed, but in Tennis he has, however he isn't the one with the worse cases, we have Delpo, and Murray towards the end of his career as example. That said, Rafa has endure plenty setbacks since 2005, 2009, 2012, 2014 (mental), 2018. It is the ability to mentally not give up that make him unique, just like his stubbornness on play. Each player have their history, and some of them we don't even know about. In any case we are at the end of a tennis era, lets take it all in.

he was injured in 2018? i know he retired from AO but to be it sounded like it wasn't anything big and skipped the hard court season for clay. like i said some of these tournaments were probably more precautionary taken a page of out fed's book with just skipping things that might not be worth it and can be risky for a season that you historically do well at. sorry i just dont buy that every tournament he skipped was always due to injury and that it was unplayable. anyway i'll end it here, because discussing rafa and his many injuries with fans is tiresome. you all should be celebrating that he won a title and looks like he has found form for rg so i'll leave it at that.

Yes, he retired after the Delpo match at the USOpen. He went and had a surgery and returned at the AO19

Who's saying he's the most injured player on the planet?
He's the player with most injury issued out of the top 3, for certain. If that annoys you, too bad. But you probably should be grateful instead.

He's actually quite good :)
Although, the Romance languages are similar enough to make it pretty easy.
I can read, but barely speak French and I can make up enough of Italian and Spanish for most basic communication, like order food or ask for directions... Or, to mostly understand Rafa's interview.
Still, nothing to take away from Nadal, it's great that he can!

Djokovic is still in a good place. He’s won last 3 slams and he’s shown good form on clay in past couple of masters. He’s set for a good challenge for title. I see him reaching the final and very likely it will be Nadal in his way. I see Rafa as the favourite again, as who else is at Paris. He’s the king of clay and his record at RG is off the charts. However, if one person believes they can beat Rafa and has the game to trouble him then it’s Novak.

Novak will give a good go, and if he falls short then he will still be well set for Wimbledon and us open where he a big favourite currently.

Djokovic has far tougher draw with Zverev and Thiem back to back. Beating them both is likely but not guaranteed results. If Djokovic spends a lot of energy there, especially now that the schedule will be more packed with rain delays, he may not beat Nadal. If he is reasonably fresh v Nadal, I expect him to win. Ridiculous, but this year's title will be decided by rain delays and it's consequences.

Do we really need to explain it? Look what is happening now. We want tennis. Skill for skill. Da uomo a uomo. De hombre a hombre. Not gaining advantages from external sources. Also djokovic has a history of getting the short end of the stick while fedal get all the perks. Nadal has rarely had to deal with that and when he does he pouts. Close the roof and play the damn game! Also climate catastrophe is upon us. The new normal is increasing ecological hell.

you may want tennis, but you also clearly want your guy to be advantaged.

yes, climate change is occurring and we need to get our emissions in check.

However, when it is not storming outside any roof, if there happens to be one, should be open!

all the slams are historically and inherently outdoor tournaments!

your guy was highly advantaged by insisting the roof at Wimbledon be closed even tho it was bright and sunny outside the second day of Nadal's and Djokovic's semifinal!

what goes around comes around.

Just look around have you been paying attention to the arctic areas and the usa? Every day multiple catastrophic weather events. It is now starting to effect food production. Put a seat belt on and get ready for a ride.
First it was Global Warming and now it is Climate Change?
Kind of like saying Overpopulation was killing the planet but now Population Change (including Underpopulation) is killing Earth.
