Novak as great as he is can’t win every grand slam. Share the wealth my friend. If i am him I take the year off and get ready for 2020 assuming he has a shoulder injury. Don’t mess around with that.

agree and i normally think people put too much into fan behavior, becauseif you expect cheering, you have to intense booing and fans boo all the time, but it was definitely not cool after a retirement

lmao a lot of fed fans probably knew of stan and what he could do especially when he carried fed at the olympics so you canstop with that nonsense.
Nah, it’s vicarious glory-hunting at its finest. Let’s see how many are supporting Stan in a semi against Fred.

See this is what the bull***t media and tennis establishment has created. How dare those losers boo a champion like Novak. I wish he had just withdrawn from the tournament and not even played after the injury. I hate he even gave them the satisfaction.

Yeah, pretty much what I was expecting. Congrats to @junior74 and all the other good Wawrinka fans. I just hope Novak gets back to full fitness for the rest of the season but I can't say I'm feeling too optimistic. :(

It’s OK, he’s a champion. He will recover.

Really disappointing that he had to retire, but I hope he will get the rest he needs. 2 slams is not bad, rest up and finish the year strong, champ.

I'm sorry. But I don't buy it. I've never been more ashamed to be a Djokovic fan.

I do believe he has some niggle atleast.
But he shouldn't have quit.
Deserved the booing for that I dare say.
Not the cheering on DFs or what happened in USO 15 final.

Big difference beating a clown like Kudla than beating the Stanimal.
Djoker never had any answers for the nuclear power of the Stan!

AO17 anyone????
Coincidence that Fed dramatically raised his level in the 3rd round after Novak started showing physical problems in the 2nd? (a la Istomin & Berdych matches) And now is on course to play Wawrinka in the SF and Nadal in F?

I think not.

Just so everybody knows, this is why Djokovic gets booed and is generally disliked. He’s a phenomenal player but he’s been a drama queen in the past (a longggg time ago) and he quits now just Bc he’s getting destroyed. Common cough and cold? SARS? Leg? Back? Shoulder? Heat? Please....it’s a non dominant shoulder injury that he’s played through for a few matches now. Nadal or Federer would NEVER quit there.

It was a little strange, especially since he looked like he was struggling more in the 2nd round at one stage and still completed the match. No MTO or anything, just retired... Maybe he just thought coming back from 2 sets down with pain was too much, who knows really. Maybe it did hurt that much...

Incredibly important for Federer or Nadal to seize the opportunity and extend their lead in the slam race. I'm sure it won't be lost on them how big this is. Who wants it more?

So happy for Stan after two years on the comeback trail. Hoping he slaughters Medvedev.

As for Novak, I never question when someone retires to protect his body. By that same token, I don't stomach injuries as excuses. If you walk on court, you're fit enough to play and take the loss.

Oh nooo, being judged by a fednatic, how will I sleep tonight? Frednatics are so transparent nowadays. It’s your man’s to win now, can’t wait to see the excuses you guys come up with if he botches it.

At least now we won’t be hearing anyone say Djokovic fans are overreacting, Djokovic is fine, he's the favorite, nobody can stop him, he's invincible, so on and so on...

Congrats to Wawrinka, his match against Medvedev will be interesting (if the latter isn’t too tired to put up a good fight).
