I don't know what you guys saw. Nadal played well and got the win. Deserved? No. He gamed that break of serve out of Daniil. He practically made Daniil play with 2 second serves for that game. That's not fitting for a champ.

Regardless of the outcome Medvedev helped make this the best USO final since 2009 (No that's not a dig a Federer. That was just a great 5 set final).

Thrilled and relieved for Rafa, but do feel very bad for Med, who fought his heart out. If he stays healthy, he'll be a hard court beast for a while... not sure yet about clay and grass, but he should be good there as well.

I stopped watching the last few games because Nadal’s cheating pissed me off, but yes, it was an incredible final. Medvedev is gonna lay a hurting on the tour next year. Big 3 reign is on its last legs.

It was a great match and most people are saying so. Lot of folks were just rooting for Medvedev (or for Nadal to lose) so obviously those people aren't going to be overjoyed.

But the best final since AO12? Please dude, not even close. AO17 and W19 were miles better and probably others too that I'm not thinking of right now.

Listen, I don't like gamesmanship that much either. However, you need to understand that Medvedev was also using gamesmanship by quick-serving. Roddick used to do that *all* the time after he won a point and the umpire would actually stop him. The serve clock really complicates the situation. But I actually thought the umpire called Nadal for time violations at the perfect times. Nadal even got broken because of it.

Relax and enjoy. It was a great final. We haven't seen the last of Medvedev and probably not the last of Nadal or the other Big-3.

What do you mean made him play 2 second serves?

By making Medvedev serve again, Nadal scopes out where the next shot is likely to go. Gives him a competitive edge in reading his opponent after his opponent just hit an ace, similar to what happens during a 2nd serve.

But really what I was getting at was the "1st serve" was the 2nd one Medvedev would have hit at that point, making it a 2nd serve.

The amount of aces that should have been allowed against the trolling cheat
breaking the rules of receiving a players serve is unique only to this balding hacker.

US Open and ATP goons have slowed conditions for so long that anyone showing

is only favoring these old experienced pushers to win marathon matches at worse
case scenario. Also another useless umpire added to the Mens final as well.
