2019 USTA Nationals Review for Men's 40s 4.5+

Saw a bag at Surprise with it seemed like 20 or more bag tags. Reminds me of when I started skiing some folks with every lift ticket they ever bought hanging off their jacket.

Wow, these are truly impressive... what's up with bagtags ? I have few of those myself. What I do with them is I put all of them on my bag. and as I walk onto the court, I flash them and make sure our opponents see them. It is a huge intimidation factor. You are up few games even before the match starts. It is like when a player sees Roger Federer coming onto the court to play against them, he is already up a break before the match even starts.

I like it, but have to put in vertical and even that is a tight fit (my racket is 18x20)

That thing is a beast, I've tried hitting the ball square on to the dampener and it doesn't go anywhere, I've also mishit the dampener more times than I care to admit and it's like, "no, fck you ball I'm not making my owner run around court like a blind squirrel"

Amazing write up, and different that my Nationals experience. Albeit at 3.0 and held in Surprise AZ. But amazing write up. Would be curious some additional pics you took.

Ha! We just got our Nationals trophies today. They arrived at our captain's house. So 6 weeks is basically how long it takes for the USTA to send them after Nationals is over...

Awsome, can you post some pictures ?? how valuable is it ?? is it as valuable as NFL championship trophy ?

great write up. when will the usta get the message that all nationals events should be held either: 1) out west where it doesn't rain, or 2) in a location with a backup plan of sufficient indoor courts that would prevent having to play any sort of shortened format. i was part of the 18+ 4.5 southern team that had a nightmare experience in arlington last year due to the rain. it seems like the usta still hasn't learned from their mistakes.

even if the land was cheap, i have no idea why the usta built their complex in orlando without having 30+ indoor courts on site. it rains all the time there.

i'm from nc and have played with/against or watched most all of the NC guys who beat you guys in the finals. i haven't had a chance to play/watch their singles stud kullick play. i know he played at colorado but is 51 years old so he must be in unbelievable shape. it's too bad that fitzgerald wasn't able to play in the finals. i'm sure it would have been a fun court to watch.

agree 100% that doing away with #2 singles next year is a complete joke. i really question the competence of the usta decision makers.

Seems like usta knew they bump a lot of people up this year so putting one more player in each match may have been strategic

When we won sectionals we got 8 trophies with the option to buy more for the rest of the team.

When our team won sectionals, the captain was the only one who got a trophy. No mention of the ability to buy more.

Meanwhile, how much money did the US Open rake in last year?
