Saw earlier Halep pointing to her right thigh and looking at her box and gesturing the "done" hand gesture. What's going on there? Is she injured there? Only see taped left ankle/calf.
Didn't see that. Not aware of right leg/thigh issue. Does have a lot more tape on her left leg/foot than last week tho

I am not a fan... I respect her game but don't like her attitude... seen too many matches where she just gives up/doesn't look like she wants to be out there. Also her extended grunts (when she doesn't even hit the ball that hard) irk me
Attitude a whole lot better than SW. Not seen that "Don't wanna be out here" look in the past 2 years from Simona except when she is injured. Still seeing her go after shots that others would not get to.

IW Naomi
Cincy Garbine
Miami Pliskova

That's the match that I watch. I'm not that fan but not hater but she does have that. On occasion tho, the opponents present her to comeback.

I'm not really much of a Serena fan these days either. Her display at the USO last year was pretty much the last straw for me. Still respect her as an athlete and what she has accomplished, but as a person - no thank you

Just funny how Keys and Venus were both playing like crap the last two months then bam. Here they are playing each other in the quarters.

Kenin looking strong this summer. Impressive stuff tonight. Anisimova is still my favorite but Sofia will tide me over till she recovers :D

Kenin father channeling opponent to play “bad”! ESPN producer has sense of humor! Love the British commentators on the International channel. No commercials either!

Huge rally there from Svitolina and Kenin but the American gets the point.

UE from Kenine, 30-30.

Good winner give her MP.

Double faults!

Somehow missed the Pliskova sisters kicking butt in doubles. They're into the SF's with big wins over Kichenok/Spears, 7th seeds Melichar/Peschke and 3rd seeds Krejcikova/Siniakova.

Not been able to watch many matches (is it me or is it getting increasingly hard to find decent streams"?), but I think we can all conclude Sabalenka is, at the very least, going through a sophomore slump. Even though her results appear to be marginally better during the American hardcourt swing, she's not producing the same consistency she showed last year. I still want to see how she fares at the USO, but I'm not hoping for much. On the other hand, Kenin seems to be filling her shoes this year, even if her rising started at the FO (maybe even before that, considering the titles she won in January and her shot at one more title in February).

Damn, that is a strange one to dislike.
It's easy to find reasons to dislike someone, but with Kenin I can actually see why some people might dislike her. She has spunk and an appealing game, but her feistiness can border on unsportsmanlike behaviour at times. I remember her vigorously pointing out marks in her match against Serena to the point of making some people boo at her (I know french boo at everything, but still). But she's an interesting prospect, that's for sure.

I know he can be tiresome with all that Serena talk and I also know he's a grown man who doesn't need defending, but I was also puzzled with the whole Halep and retirements affair. Firstly, Halep has never been the type of player who's retiring left and right and running like a rabbit the next day up to this point. She plays a gruelling type of game and, as a result, she actually went straight to hospital after a final for exhaustion - not a thing you see everyday. Secondly, even if she pulled that trick, she wouldn't be the first one to do it. It's not pretty, sure, but it's not unheard of. Hell, Serena pulled it way before this postpartum period, not even showing up at all. So, I don't see why Halep should be more maligned for it than others. Thirdly, just because she played Cincinnati that doesn't mean she was feigning it. These past month, I've seen people with 60+ years losing half their colon and defecating after 2-3 days. It's not that hard to believe she stopped for fearing of making what it might have seemed a "light" thing much worse and ended up recovering within few days, especially being a young athletic woman.

Halep and Keys take the matching outfits to a whole new level with matching accessories: hats, shoes and bags- a wedding guest nightmare :)

Halep's worst result in 5 years at Canada-Cincy double. She made at least SF or better at both tournaments every year since 2015.

On the other hand, the good showing at those tournaments was followed by not so good results at USO. USO is her worst slam with only one QF (2016) and one SF (2015) and 1R exits in the past 2 years.

Will she reverse the odds this time around and have a deep run at USO or end up with the most underwhelming North American leg in her career so far? I guess will see in few weeks. I hope she is injury free for USO so she can focus on her game unhindered.

Yea but in all honesty no one has been more consistent on the WTA tour in the last 5 years than Halep. Well maybe Serena when she plays.
