Didn't Wimbledon already say that they didn't do anything different from normally and the slow grass is just due to the weather?

Nadal in this form isn't losing to Sam Querrey

Even the commentators are saying that Querrey is the most dangerous player in this draw.
Sure Nadal can win, but he is going to have his hands full against Querrey's serve and his aggression.
Anything less than A game for Rafa, he will lose IMO.
Querrey is the sort of a player who could take the racquet out of your hands. As he did with Novak in Wimbledon before..

I do hope we get to see a Fedal semifinal next Friday but seriously, can you imagine if Nadal wins? Not only will he likely end Federer's hopes of adding another major trophy to his cabinet but it also means Roger won't have a winning H2H against Nadal in any of the 4 slams and Rafa will lead 11-3 and 25-15 overall. If you're a Fed fan and that doesn't sting you I don't know what will!
It's gonna be a huge match for Federer's legacy at his beloved Wimbledon grass. He must defend his fortress like Rafa did at the FO.;)

Do you even believe a word of this? Do you think pro commentators will deride the draw on air in the interest of truth?

Goathood was already decided by 2017 AO, or did you not get the memo from 90's clay?

h2h is not really that important to Federer fans, but nice try.

So a h2h match decided who was the greatest yet h2h doesn’t matter?

This is coming from a guy who’s a fan of Rafa but I don’t care too much on declaring who’s GOAT. The conversation gets boring and someone eventually will come along and be better.

How would the weather cause it? When it's warm the balls fly faster through the air but it really looks like the courts themselves are slow and not as slippery as they've usually been, i.e., the grass is probably rougher. It's ridiculous that you can't even use slice effectively, this is not real grass tennis as we know it. I've watched a lot of matches and the outside courts look slow, too.

I think they didn't like the excessive servebotting last year and decided to slow it down, but they overdid it and the result is that grass court specialists like Lopez suffered and clay courters like Schwartzman and Pella benefitted.

Edit: Or are they saying that the grass is slow because the weather's been dry?

You are insinuating my opinion. I was making a joke. Best to just mind your own business if you don't have a clue.

Yes of course he can utilise his serve and first strike tennis but that only happens when he's playing well as the margins narrow. Against Djokovic conditions must be fast. Against the field, and I mean literally, every one else, I prefer it to be slower. Compare Cincy 18 vs Stan and the French QF. He played 10x better last month. Look how well he played in Miami after the first match. 2014-15 and 2018-19 he reached 4 Indian Wells finals. Only Coric and del Potro took sets off him in this period (expect Djokovic). If he can set up his shots he plays really well, just go back and look at the Sunshine double in 17.

Against Stan this year has a lot to do with Stan being exhausted after the long match against Tsitsipas. Stan destroyed him at RG in 2015. As for Sunshine Double, he was just overall in top form. He was just as, if not more, imperious in Shanghai the same year. Did he or did he not destroy the field there too?

Nadal played great but the court has completely neutered the serve. Wimbledon has just become a game of baseline consistency. Tsonga should be extremely difficult to break on grass with his serve.

Nadal is NOT likely to lose to Querrey. Sheesh!
Yeah Rafa will be the favourite no doubt, but there's no way in hell it's going to be an easy match. If Querrey hits the serve and Fh well and is solid with the BH, this could very well be a very difficult match for Rafa even if he's playing very well at the moment. This is grass, you never know.
Still, bring it on. Should be a great test before the Fedal semi!

Nadal looks deadly at Wimbledon this year. His movement is great, he's serving well, and he's hitting the ball quite well from both wings. Nadal has flattened out his back hand shot over the years and turned it into a dangerous weapon. This guy keeps improving his mechanics to atone for the loss of foot speed.

I think that Nadal has a great chance to reach the final. Federer better raise his level a couple of notches along the way.
From what I saw today, Federer matched Nadal shot for shot today against Pouille. Both are playing realllyy well, and since this is grass, Fed will be the favourite and should win that semi. The high ball to the BH doesnt trouble Fed anymore, not even on clay.
