Looking forward to seeing who is in Kevin Anderson's section of the draw.

If he even makes it back from injury in time  the mice shall sure play if the cat is away.

Nadal will be the most interesting player to watch. Time to find out of 2018 was a return to form, or merely a blip on the radar with his wandering grass form this decade.

The real final could be a SF, no? The draw is weeks away.

Love the sentiment though!
Yes it could, but for the good of the tournament, Roger, Rafa, Novak and Stefanos have to be split in 2 groups. If 1 player is alone on one side, it will be completely unbalanced. I think all of them will reach the SF, they are the best players at the moment with Thiem but Dominic won't reach that stage on grass.

#94 Dellien, who took a set off Tsitsipas at the French, just lost 1 and 1 in the 1st round of a clay challenger in Italy. Surely he's ranked high enough to be playing grass challengers this week in the lead up to Wimbledon? Seems like an unfortunate ranking position - maybe he's playing clay as he has a better chance to get the ranking points to make MD of Wimbledon? Seems odd to me that someone wouldn't even make an effort to warm up on grass for Wimbledon.

Got my tickets for the 1st day. So Will see Novak opening up at the very least.
Cool. Years ago we qued, got tickets for center court (first row!) and saw Martina (the original one) play on Center Court the first or second day. I still have a little snippet of a grass divot from that day. I had asked a ball kid to pick it up and give it to me. She did. :giggle:

Enjoy yourself!

The entry list is set about 6 weeks in advance. If he wasn't ranked high enough at the time, he would have to go through qualies. Understandable not to expend too much energy on grass in that situation.

Also a little baffled - why hasn't last year's junior winner Tseng been given a WC into the men's draw, when the girls' champ from last year, Swiatek, has on the women's side? He's only got the WC into qualies...

That might be because Iga is ranked top 100 and Tseng around 400 or whatever?

I just presumed they were given direct entry for winning the junior event the year before, but perhaps there are different factors on the men's/women's side or as you say, a ranking cutoff.

I think Iga got it for ranking. She really should get direct entry on ranking alone, but I guess whenever the entry list was set she was ranked lower.

Shapo was in a similar situation in US open 2017. He was ranked around 55 bc of SF points from Canada, but had to go through qualies.
