You know thinking about it a little... RBA actually has a semi decent shot at winning Wimbledon. It's like my mind just exploded.

I'll say Novak in 4, RBA should make it a good contest...

Agut no longer a surprise Bc of their 2 matches this year that he won. Djokovic will be focused and 100% ready from the start.

OK Novak if you're reading this here's what I'd like you to do: Absolutely smash him all over the court every which way, grind his body down 'til he's in so much agony he's practically begging for mercy then when you're done with him blow his remains all over Centre Court and hope for his family's sake that some of them land in Castellon de la Plana. That's all.

I’ll go Novak in 4 since Agut tends to bother Novak. But not enough to pull the upset on this big a stage.

I'm going to laugh so hard if RBA actually pulls off the massive upset and wins this in like 5 sets.

out of curiosity, from an aggregate standpoint of seedings, is this technically the easiest path to a grand slam in the open era?

I was hoping it would be even easier. Hoping all of djokovic's draws crumble and become "easy". He just needs a live body on the other side to stay in the groove. Love it!

I remember some saying how horrible it was Bautista Agut made a slam semi at the U.S Open, but now he is in a 2nd one. Good for him, obviously it was no fluke as most thought. Granted one could say it is another indicator of the current state of the mens game Agut is in multiple slam semis (I would there is a decent shot this isnt even his last).

Yeah I know he beat Djokovic twice this year but Djokovic in straights. Agut might sneak a set if Djokovic goes to sleep briefly like today.

Novak: do not lose to Agut but you don't need to kill him ok? :giggle:

Djokovic in straights. He's looked better in this tournament and Agut looked largely pedestrian against Pella.

The only worry for Djokovic in the final would be that he has NOT really been tested at all. He's never had to go to the top gear or play his A game.
But then who knows, he might not even have to in the final.

You're probably thinking of Pablo Carreño Busta; Roberto Bautista has never made ot through the 4R of USO and even that was years ago.

RBA has been a solid 20-ish ranked player for years and a 3R-4R fixture in Slams. He's consistent, but tends to lose to high seeds/big 3.
