After the first set Djokovic looked very much beatable, I wish he would play like this in matches against Nadal. But oh well, he doesn't. I expect Nadal to lose today anyway.
So, in order for Nadal to win, Djoko needs to play like it is an exhibition match?! Not high confidence in Nadal, no?

I disagree with the last sentence. Novak looks worse than last year and Nadal looks better.
No way. Novak lacked confidence last year. He was jaded and primarily depended on his defense alone. This year, he's just conserving his energy. He knows he can step it up at will. and Mole's way more aggressive than last year . He's gonna win the whole thing. And unlike last year's Djokodal, of Rafa is on the other side he'll her it done in 4. Nadal/Fed is toast on this surface.

28 minutes.

And Djoker just was asked, "will you watch Fed-Rafa match?" He laughed and said, "of course I'm going to watch it!"

Exactly.

Maybe I SHOULD be afraid of Novak, but I don't see it, and im not lol. He is def the favorite against Nadal/Fed, but I believe in my boy.

Things change fast after 35. Not saying he can't do it but the drop is much steeper.

People used to say that. But Novak is 32 and there is NO DROP.

Even Fed had slowed down at 32. Nadal has been considerably slower since 2018, when he got to 32. But Nadal slowed down after late 20s IMO.

Djokovic is not declining physically. I don't think anything will change after 35. Yes, his motivation might drop. But his form, endurance and speed won't.
At this point, he's the fittest player on tour and it's impossible to outlast him. That confidence in the physicality gives Novak the mental belief.
As the points get longer, he knows that he will always come out on top.

Pat McEnroe: "whoever Novak plays in the final, he will be the favorite. He has no weaknesses, especially on this particular surface this year."
You’ve become more optimistic about Nole than I have! I think I will have to root for Fed in the SF to return then favor.

Common knowledge. Novak is unbeatable outside of clay. Maybe not even clay, but we will know next year.
As of this time, unless he gets injured he should get Wimb, UsOpen and the AO - to get to 18 slams (Nadal's total) before summer hits next year.

Congrats to Djokovic. Definitely the favorite on Sunday whatever happens.

I am a big admirer of how much he improved on grass and made Center Court one of his favorite grounds. Exceptional athlete.

Good to see Novak pulled it out. Was a suspenseful morning after seeing some of the 2nd set and not checking the score again until now.

Djokovic is in pretty good shape I must say.

And he's got them elastic Bones.

I think he could easily win Slams for the next 5-6 Years ....

The eye test tells me exactly the same thing but (excuse the cliche) athletes tend to age overnight. 2017 can easily happen again and the comeback becomes harder and harder. That said, I would be surprised if he didn’t get 19, there is simply no one I can see stepping up quick enough.

True. That and how much the field has declined. There really is no competition for him, outside of clay, I think.

Agut,

I hate you. Like, I can't stand you. If I had a choice to beat someone up between all the evil professors, coaches I had, and you, I might lean towards your annoying azz.

But enjoy yourself in Ibiza man. So well earned. :D
You must be a Nadal fan. And young, as so many teen trolls here. Hence your reference to evil professors and coaches? You actually think Agut had a chance? Jokovic didn't even seem that serious when playing all those match points! Toying around with him, he was.

Well, how can Nadal win any slams with these kind of draws? He has to get through Kyrgios, Federer and Djokovic in one tournament. This is why I will never forgive him the loss in Wimbledon 2018. That was his chance to win a third Wimbledon. And he missed it. He will never have such a good chance again.

his AO losses hurt me more than his Wimbledon ones

Even if Nadal had a cheesy draw and no tough player, he'd still have to face Djokovic. So he wasn't winning anyway this year. Irrespective of the draw.

But yeah, Nadal had his chance in 2018. He blew it. But that's the story of Nadal's career: AO 2012, AO 2014, AO 2017 etc. He's choked on a lot of big matches, which is why he is out of the GOAT race IMO.

It was a problem for a lot longer than that but yeah not too shabby a record overall, especially given how much he twists and bends ;).

Djokovic has a very thin frame and superior genetics. There is probably very little load on his muscles, tendons and bones. Makes sense on why he isn't injured.
He's always been fitter and lankier than Fedal. The lesser you weigh, the lesser wear and tear you have. Simple..

Nadal is 2 slams away from equalling Federer and he is out of the GOAT race? Seriously, what are you watching?

Nadal's not winning any non clay slams. Also I've never considered Nadal as a putative GOAT even if he got to Fed's slam count. There are too many holes in his resume, not least not an ATG level serve - not consistently offensive and not as many non-clay slams, no WTF, not as many weeks as #1, too many injuries etc etc .

Rafa is a great player, an ATG, but won't be the best of this era IMO.

Absolutely wonderful reaction after the 2nd set from Djokovic. Bring on whoever wins later today.

your opinion's relevance has been highly degraded this week.

time for you to accept that.

You know Nadal can win this Wimbledon. He is very much in this event, and will be at USO and AO. Come on, you need some of @MichaelNadal 's belief.
