Dont think it was all injury. But okay, 6 months for essentially his entire career. Plus, once he go surgery he was ready to go in a month.
Sure, had he gone for surgery right away, he might have returned sooner. But he insisted on doing it the natural way and chose longer rest instead, not even training for a few months. It did cost him some time but as we see in the last year it turned out alright eventually.

He has been blessed overall definitely. Only one Slam missed, and he has appeared very often at Masters too.

You know Nadal can win this Wimbledon. He is very much in this event, and will be at USO and AO. Come on, you need some of @MichaelNadal 's belief.
I'm just realistic Hitman. I'm pretty sure you know it as well, Nadal isn't winning this tournament. And then on the UsOpen, there are lot of hardcourt specialists - combined with Nadal's propensity of getting injured.
So the next big one might just have to be F.O 2020 for Rafa.

All due respect, I think you are being pessimistic here. Realistically Nadal has a shot everywhere.

People used to say that. But Novak is 32 and there is NO DROP.

Even Fed had slowed down at 32. Nadal has been considerably slower since 2018, when he got to 32. But Nadal slowed down after late 20s IMO.

Djokovic is not declining physically. I don't think anything will change after 35. Yes, his motivation might drop. But his form, endurance and speed won't.
At this point, he's the fittest player on tour and it's impossible to outlast him. That confidence in the physicality gives Novak the mental belief.
As the points get longer, he knows that he will always come out on top.
I agree with everything you said except that nothing will change after 35. It always does but we'll have to wait and see how much.

I don't disagree. But having a shot doesn't actually mean winning.
Yes, he is the top 3 or top 4 favorite. But there's a large gap and that doesn't mean he would actually win.
Obviously against Novak he has no chance. But even if Novak somehow gets upset in UsOpen or God forbit AO - Nadal might lose to other players. There was a time in 2011 for ex, when Nadal was clearly the 2nd best. Now he isn't.

You really think Djokovic has 'superior' genetics? You refuse to be open to the idea that he conditioned himself that much longer & harder for many more years and that allowed him to be fitter? Because I recall many of you used to make fun of his gluten intolerance when he claimed he couldn't breathe.

Now we're disrespecting all the work he put in to become the unequivocal GOAT? Got it.

Lol. I recall there was a post about how the diet he has was the reason he was losing

It was great at first but something about over time killing his performance. Lol
