How does the Perrier ad work?
Is it something they add to production or are there speakers on the court and they play the pre-recorded "aaahhhh"?
And who exactly are they targeting? The audience there or spectators at home?
And finally: how exactly do they expect people to recognise it's a Perrier ad?
I have so many questions about this thing every year.

sigh venus out in the first round, i knew it wasn't going to be easy even if svitolina is coming off injury. this god damn tournament, w/e hopefully she will do better at wimbledon

She’s not Federer or Nadal who necessarily need warm up events before slams. She played nothing before Wimbledon last year and breezes through to the final. She played only a handful of matches before the US Open last year includingthat demolition from Konta but Serena then went on to make the US Open final. She brings her A game at the slams.

She doesn’t really have anything to worry about til the 4R against Barty but even then, she beat Ash in Paris last year and that was Serena’s first tournament back! Whereas now she’s had her practice.
Gerrymandered draws in her 2 finals the only player worth a light she beat was Pliskova who had a family loss the day before. Williams has no chance here she is finished.

I saw Ponchet winning a hardcourt tourney in Portugal last year and was impressed with her play, but mostly with her demeanour on court.
There were about 3 girls there who were possibly more talented than her but she beat them all with smart play and a good mental game.
I found her game interesting. The issue she seemed to have today was depth. She kept hitting short balls to BB. Hope
she able to get into the top 50 so i can see more of her at the slams

Hall of Fame
I saw that little Lauren Davis has K. Pliskova in the draw tomorrow. I thought it was Karolina Pliskova at first.lol Talk about David and Goliath! I hope she pulls it out. And of course Julia over Kanepi!!
I voted for Bertens.

The women's game right now comes down to who is on a roll, or who is the IT player of the moment. Bertens is on a roll right now and she seems like the IT player.

I'm not even a Halep fan, but I wouldn't bet against her. I suppose the question is - will she play with freedom having finally won RG last year, or will she feel the pressure to defend her title?
Equally, wondering if Serena genuinely believes she can win a slam with hardly any tournaments played? Her schedule is incredibly light.
Bertens is going to be a threat, but I'm not convinced she has the nerve to close out 7 matches. Time will tell, but she will have to experience nerves like she's never felt before to take the title here.
I'm personally really hoping Sloane shows up and goes 1 further than last year. She hasn't been winning matches quick enough for my liking, and I'd love to see some more aggressive play but she knows what she has to do to get to where she was last year.

Reports that Kvitova cancelled her training session yesterday after only 5 minutes, something to do with her left arm.

Not great.

Cirstea has beaten her twice in their seven meetings and in their last clay meeting she took Petra to a third set tiebreaker. Watch out for the upset I guess :(
And it's confirmed, Kvitova has withdrawn. Replaced by Kaja Kuvan.

Real shame.

Kvitova's withdrawal really opens up her quarter of the draw.

Who's making the QF?

Wozniacki bagels Kudermetova. Really impressive from Caroline.

Kudermetova was 40-0 up and looked set to hold serve, Wozniacki sticks in the game and goes on to break her and feed her a bagel.

Kanepi/Goerges in a mammoth game in the 2nd set. Has to have been 20 minutes now.

Kanepi breaks to go up a set and break, the game had 11 deuces.

Kanepi truly is a nightmare to play at slams in the early rounds:

She is so rarely seeded so she gets scheduled against the seeds, these are just some of her slam wins in her career.

#6 Chakvetadze - French Open 2008 2R
#6 Stosur - Wimbledon 2010 1R
#9 Wozniacki - French Open 2012 3R
#7 Kerber - Wimbledon 2013 2R
#8 Jankovic - Wimbledon 2014 1R
#24 Cibulkova - Aus Open 2018 1R
#1 Halep - US Open 2018 1R

Rome finalist Konta through in straight sets over Lottner.

Madrid champ Bertens into the 2R in straight sets with a great match.

Weird, Up 3-1 in the 3rd, Kudermetova takes a MTO for dirt in her eye.

Why would she stop momentum like that. Watch out for Caroline to break to get back on serve now..

That's gotta hurt..

On break point Kudermetova serves and Woz hits the ball back but signals to the chair ump the serve was long, he comes to check and says it was. 2nd serve for Kudermetova who then serves a double fault and Caroline breaks back.

That was such a dumb move for Kudermetova to take that MTO, did not seem urgent at all.

Wozniacki loses after serving a first set bagel.

Wasn't a title contender but that's a bad loss for her. Was defending 4R points so she drops 230 points. Doesn't impact her live ranking too much right now but the tournaments has only just begun. She's only ranked #45 in the race rankings.

Barty knocks out Pegula 6-3 6-3. Not her best but gets it done.

Prague champ Hercog knocks out #32 seed Sasnovich.

Minella knocks out Pavlyuchenkova.

Surprised when i checked the score Wozzi had a brain fart after the first set bagel.

Nice to see Mandy Minella get the win over Pavlyuchenkova.

I see Bertens won. Cool.
Shame about Kvitova, though. I didn't think she would win this, but she could create havoc in her good days.

And now, let's get back to my discharge notes.
