WTA H2H: 2-1 for Pliskova

Ace Queen will strive for her 13th WTA singles title, Ash can achieve the 4th triumph. If Karolina gets the title, she will become the Czech number one again.

Karolina's twin sister, Krystina, doesn't do anywhere near as well as Karolina. Why not? They're identically built (I can't tell them apart), should have the same access to the same kind of nutrition, coaching (maybe), equipment... is it just that Karolina works harder? (My dime has been on Barty for a few rounds now, to take the trophy, so I have to stick with that, but the Plish is a good player, too).

Karolina is mentally tougher.

Really hope that Ash can take this out. She has the most variety in her game of any player on the tour which makes her a delight to watch. Her whole demeanor and attitude is very endearing and has made her arguably the most popular player on tour. One thing for sure, win or lose this final, she will be gracious and remain unaffected.

I haven't been keeping on top of the women's tournament this week, as my "kids" (Felix and Denis) have been delivering, but I'm definitely rooting for Ash here. Go girl!!

I don't think lefty moves as well or is as consistent from the baseline as Karolina.

Her serve is one of my favorite shots on the WTA though.

Identical twins live in somewhat different environments before birth and then have many different experiences. Environment can affect gene expression. Check out "epigenetics." As for the second part of your post, be prepared -- Plish is playing like iron woman and Ash doesn't have the reach.

Ash has the legs (cricket playing helped strengthen them a lot) and accuracy is improving, and she thinks more strategically than most

I would have to say that the coming of age of Ash Barty is one of the biggest tennis stories of the year.

Congrats to Ashleigh Barty on winning her maiden Premier Mandatory tournament!

Each of the first 2 Premier Mandatory events of the year have been won by first timers. How many others will follow this pattern as the season progresses?

Everybody talking about Barty being superior off the ground but it was even more remarkable how Barty was better during her service games. She won an outstanding 86% 1st serve points.

She even far outaced the self-trademarked "Ace Queen".

Pliskova needs to work on floater returns that go 5 feet inside the service line volleys. How could she volley it two feet wide of the sideline?

Can not believe the number of Aces by Barty? What happen to Pliskova’s serve? Barty had 15 aces while Pliskova only 6. Pliskova just had the worse tactic with floater long drpshots that landed 8 feet over the net and near the service line. Pliskova just did not have the game plan!
