Amazing by Kvitova and Martic.
Big fan of both here.
I think Petra actually has a good game for clay, with a few tweaks here and there.
I know it's almost impossible, but she does have the weapons to emulate Borg, in what is still - for me - the hardest double to do in a single career: the Channel Slam.
But first she needs to start performing better at RG.
It's never too late. Maybe this year?

Will be very interesting to see Ash with a top 8 seeding at a slam which is looking very likely. She's up to #8 in the live rankings although Bertens is not far behind.

Halep is looking to end Barty's 11 match winning streak.

Barty is looking to end Halep's 10 match winning streak on clay.

Haven't been able to watch too many matches, but the shade covering half the court is awful. Hard to deal with as a player, and as a viewer my eyes can barely follow the ball.

Bencic wins. Ouch that’s gotta hurt for Osaka. Two points from the win, served for the match but loses the last 4 games to lose the match.

Halep v Bencic SF.

And with that, the number 1 ranking remains in play. Halep just has to win the title to become #1. Osaka could’ve locked that #1 spot up for quite a while if she won that.

2 potentially tasty semi finals coming up - I'll be routing for my erratic gal Sloane.
Regarding Osaka - perhaps she would benefit from dropping a few places down the rankings - she doesn't seem to deal well with pressure and a lot of that comes from being #1.

Bencic vs Halep (H2H) 2-1, but we're on clay here so I think Simona will takes it.
Stephens vs Bertens (H2H) 2-0. Definitely Bertens has the upper hand for being one of the most consistent on the tour but when Steph is on, Bertens could play erratic.

Wouldn't mind another FO final and please win this time Sloane.

Petra went down pretty easily, I will have to watch that match.

I saw enough of it to see why Bertens won.
Combination of a few factors.

First Bertens was out-serving Kvitova, with powerful serves that set up many points.
Second, Kvitova was tentative and off-form today, making too many unforced errors.
She didn't have a strategy really.

It was Bertens who was moving Kvitova around the court most of the time.
To beat Bertens your game has to be on (including serve) and you have to hit aggressively
all the time. Mixing things up of course too.
