This is a real interesting one.

Strycova into the SF in both singles and doubles, there's always a chance she could withdraw from the doubles SF given how she goes against Serena and if she's worried about any injuries. If she does withdraw then anyone who picks Babos/Mladenovic goes straight through to the final as we don't do Backups in the SF/Final. So you'd heavily consider going for Babos/Mladenovic in that case but they barely scraped through against Melichar/Peschke only winning 9-7 in the 3rd.

So instead i've gone for the defending champs who hopefully will get through which will mean I have either team from the top half for the final.

I know I didn't have to justify it but I wanted too

Is backup still valid if the players you pick is the one who withdraw? The rule only stated you can't win via a walkover but okay on SF.

Not sure what to do. my original idea has worked so far, having 3 of the 4 teams left and the ability to pick one and if they win pick whomever else is left in the finals. The defending champs however have looked pretty good....and if Strycova somehow knocks off Serena she could pull out....even though her and Hseih have also looked very formidable this fortnight themselves.

guess I'll go with my original strategy

leaves me a guaranteed pick for the finals if they win. my gut is to tossed to gamble on the other SF.

Well that's Wimbledon over for another year and we finally have a Wimbledon champion... congrats to @NaomiKonjuhPotapova who won the SW19 doubles. Also, returns to the number 1 ranking and equals our record number of tournie wins with number 5.
